Paulie's a warrior. Takes a beating like a man. He would have carried on no doubt given the choice, and no, Khan would not have KO'd him.
Thank you Smolger for letting that beating continue.

Khan may not have KO'd him but the beating he was taking could have led to permanent damage so good job on Smoger for stopping it when he did. I don't like Paulie, but don't wanna see the guy hurt.Comment

Why would anyone wish a fighter to get damaged for life? What a ****in scumbag attitude, hiding behind your computer wishing someone who risks his life for your entertainment to get seriously injured..These so called "fans" are a disgrace to boxing. So he talks a bunch of trash and looks a certain way, nobody has to 'like' him per se - but I don't know what more he's got to do, what more odds he's got to take on, to earn all boxing fans' respect.
I know you're a boxing fan and not one of the straight creeps, so that's why it puzzles me.
The guy's true class comes out after a fight, win or lose.
He's got a pure heart.
I knew for a fact, said it to a friend, that, whoever won, Paul and Amir would look like friends at the end of this fight.
I see people wishing permanent damage on this great kid, and, I won't lie, I find it pretty depressing.Comment

Well said. I wanted to see Paulie take a beating, but his corner should have pulled him out earlier. Also smolger did a good job as ref.Last edited by TheKza; 05-16-2010, 09:31 AM.Comment

I think has alot of hate has to do with his comments about Pac. Aligning yourself with Team Mayweather is about as bad a public relations move as you can do. I think his comments were kinda crass, as I'm dubious that the motives were him simply expressing his opinion. The fact that he went to Ariza and Roach afterwards and looked like he was contrite says alot.
Tbh, I don't have much time for him as a fighter. I think his style sucks and I don't want to see him headline another HBO show again.
But last night was kinda sad. He was against a young, talented fighter that he just couldn't hang with. To me, it isn't fun to see people take beatings and get KOd. But then, I've always felt empathy and sadness for the gatekeepers, journeymen and patsies. Boxing is a cruel sport in alot of ways.
Khan did what he needed to do, and looked great in doing it. Thankfully Paulie didn't look too damaged and broken in the post-fight interview. He's had few more paydays since the Hatton one, so I hope he doesn't become a gatekeeper. I know someone has to...but I would think he's smart enough not to let that happen.Comment
