But Dana really fell back when he went head-to-head with boxing twice and lost in the PPV Battle. Since then he really hasn't had much to say negative about the sport. Hell, he even went on record and said he ordered the Mayweather-JMM fight during his own UFC 103 Card so that alone tells you that Dana White knows that boxing isn't "dying"

The Boxing is Dying myth is almost as bad as Hip Hop is Dead, IMO. Both are being said by bitter folks who really are fans but hide the fact that neither is close to being dead.
EHHHHHHH but at least Boxing puts on good fights...99% of the **** you hear on the radio is pure garbage...

2 years ago who would have predicted that Pacquiao would be the draw?
Once these guys are gone, someone else in Boxing ill take there place.
Believe me i hope so im just not sure if anyone is capable off it right now we could see a barren spell soon. Seeing Paul Williams as the 3rd best fighter on many list don't bode well that's for sure.

(i.e. Kimbo Slice). You can't do that in boxing. Another thing, no one will be talking about UFC fighters 50 years from now.
It's amazing how the people who claim boxing is dead are the ones the who never watch or even follow boxing to begin with. Boxing has been on the downside compared to the 80s and 90s, but has really turned things around the last 3-4 years. Boxing popularity is actually increasing these days. You have guys who don't know **** about boxing talking about Pacquiao and Mayweather. Not to mention all the young prospects especially in the 140 and 168 division.

I like MMA as well, but they have a long way to go to even be considered in the same breath as boxing. The most exciting boxing match will always be more exciting than the most exciting MMA fight because of the way the two sports are designed. Boxers have longer matches and standing 8 counts, where in MMA, if you're in trouble you are more likely to get finished. I have seen many exciting MMA fights that were ended anti-climatically.

It seems like the general audience is biased towards MMA. When Tyson scored a first round ko, people wanted refunds. But if an MMA fighter scores a first round ko or submission in the main event, people say it was amazing and a great finish.

Like I said, can anyone honestly say they saw Pacquiao being the next big thing a couple years ago?

You can't even compare the 2. Boxing is a SPORT, MMA is a spectacle and a fad. Top MMA fighters don't have 1/1000th of the talent a top boxer have. MMA fighters are mostly glass chinned grapplers that couldn't take a punch from a 12 year old jr amateur boxer without getting knocked out cold.

As far as the UFC, they do like 12 PPV events a year..........but 1 or 2 at most goes over 500k buys.

BTW the only people ive seen say boxing is dead are fat tapout wearing high school kids who only know 2 boxers, tyson and ali.

Nice excuse. BTW all those "injuries" are a lie, it really means the MMA guy missed his roid cycle or pissed hot.
