Katsidis definately beats Marquez imo, when he gets a proper world title he'll be big down here.

Katsidis needs to beat a legend to become a legend.

I'm from Melb and I don't know anyone who could tell you who Katsidis is... it's a shame because Mundine and Green (solely on the RJJ win) are better known, the worst part is if Kats stayed here in Aus and fought bums like those guys do he'd probably me much more well known and popular

did everyone just discover Katsidis today? Seems like this thread should have been posted in March 2008 when he was considered a top lightweight and had just lost a war with Casamayor.

The sport down here is non existent, it's a joke when people don't even know who fighters like Mayweather and Pacquiao are but can't stop saying that Green and Mundine are champions.

Great win by Katsidis and good luck to him in the future

i'd say maybe 1 in 100 people here would know who he is..to be honest, i reckon even less that that.

boxing is not big here and unless there is big controversy, boxers usually go unknown. Danny Green gained fame for the travesty against him in Germany, Mundine was super popular before because he was one of the best Rugby League players in the world..

It's a pity for Katsidis because I'm sure if he was Mexican or American, he'd probably have 100 times more money than he has now.

It just adds to his motivation to be the best. He'll be there one day.

nah, he should relocate to either the UK or Germany. He'd make at least 10 times more money. He isn't young and takes punishment, so I'd be recommending him to go to Germany.

I would say more like 1 in 10,000 :P that will soon change though

Kostya wasn't given a chance by the media or known by the public in his earlier years as well

He hasn't really taken much punishment since the Casamayor and Diaz fight, his guard is much better.
