Calderon to hit New Jersey! *Gatti/Floyd undercard*

    Calderon to hit New Jersey!
    By Gerardo M. Avila-Planas
WBO minimumweight champ Ivan "Iron Boy" Calderon (22-0, 5 KOs) has culminated the most intense part of training and is scheduled to arrive in New Jersey today for his upcoming fight against Mexican Gerardo Verde (13-0, 10 KOs). The fact that this fight will take place in the undercard of Mayweather vs. Gatti gives the Puerto Rican boxer a great opportunity for everyone to get familiar with Calderon. The "Iron Boy" has been called by the local media as "arguably the finest Puerto Rican boxer since Wilfred Benitez."

A mini Mayweather, he barly loses a RD, nut he has less power than Floyd at 5 feet tall, his last fight put some asleep, not me, I enjoyed him slaping the guy around.

I saw that fight live at the mgm grand on november 27th...

I met him and got his autograph, really nice guy, I feel sorry for him cuz he has fans like you.

Either way, his the most boring fighter I've seen in this lifetime, EVERYONE was booing him cuz he was so boring, hell nobody was even watching...

If you havent seen him fight, he'll do beautiful in the first round, and youl'l see the same thing in the 12th round...

    21-0 (4 kos)

    What awesome power.......................

Well(I took you off ingore for a sec), hes fighting in New Jersey now, not in California as a undercard to Morales/Barrera...LOL. Hes undercard for Mayweather/Gatti, I suppose if Calderon were to make fans, it'd be on a card with Mayweather, who himself has been boo'd before, and New Jersey. Benitez didnt have much power either...back on ignore.

I heard he has some really tight defense though.
I like watching good defense, I might like his style.

He has a great defense and has superb boxing skills. One of the best boxers out there. The only drawback is he little punching power and likes to box and get on the bike. He might not be exciting to watch bus to me he is one of the best if not the best boxer out there right now

Mayweather, Leonard, DeLaHoya actually got some kind of power to go with it...

I met him and he was a class act...

Right now Calderons fighting "bums", which is the norm at lower weights, I wouldnt mind him seeing him fight someone worth while when his record is over 30. He fights alot, last year he fought 3 times, so maybe soon he will fight someone with another belt.

Best fighter from boxrec seems to be Noel Tunacao 39-7-2, which he just slaped him around for 12, maybe Carlos Fajardo 21-3-1 ? Holy crap he is Age 30!
