    DLH beat 15 champs/titleholders

Oscar De La Hoya beat 15 former or current champs at the time.

Jimmy Bredhal (Was the current WBO Holder)
Jorge Paez (Was former WBO/IBF Holder)
Juan Molina (Was former IBF Holder)
Rafael Ruelas (Was former IBF Holder)
Genaro Hernandez (Was former WBC/WBA Holder)
James Leija (Was former WBC Holder)
Julio Cesar Chavez (Was former WBC Holder)
Miguel Angel Gonzalez (Was former WBC Holder)
Pernell Whitaker (Was former Undisputed champ)
Hector Camacho (Was former WBC/WBO Holder)
Ike Quartey (Was former WBC Holder)
Arturo Gatti (Was former IBF Holder and current WBC Holder)
Javier Castillejo (Was former WBC Holder)
Fernando Vargas (Was former IBF & WBA Holder)
Felix Sturm (Was former WBO Holder)

Talk about an imppresive resume. Not to mention his 4 losses were to future hall of famers, and 3/4 losses were all questionable.

old, past prime, shot, or not...DLH has a resume...if only he had Tito and Mosley on there who were in their primes when he fought those close fights with them...he would be held in higher regard...

pure class....a pity he is not looking at improving his already great legacy and look at making money only.

i wonder what tszyu's record will be like.......it hink he would have had beaten about 10 or so world champions.

it is impressive but not as impressive as it may seem, alot of those guys were either:
1 - past their prime(chavez, paez, whitaker, camacho)
2 - above their championship weight when oscar fough them (leija, molina, hernandez, gatti, camacho)
3 - close decisions that could have gone against him
4 - WBO champions, do they count?

its impressive, but not amazing because of these reasons

Agreed. His best wins (Quartey, Sturm, Whitaker) were all as controversial and close and his worst losses (Mosely, Trinidad...)

DLH really doesn't have a defining win except for his TKO of Vargas. That was his only clear win and the Hopkins fight was his only clear loss.

Oscar is a class fighter and should be an example for others. He fought ANYBOYD ... ANYTIME.

Mayweather is coming up on his 34th fight and his only career defining win was against a toothpick Corrales 5 years, 10lbs and 2 divisions ago.

By that time in Oscar's career he already won 5 world titles in 3 different divisions with 15 total defenses and he fought 6 Future Hall of Famers.

            Oscar is a legend.

No way Oscar can take Zab right now. Zab will be too fast for him.

He also beat Castillo, Manfredy, and Chavez. As far as I can tell, he's fighting the best available to him. Right now he's taking what should be an easy fight in Gatti for a belt, and a weight class jump, then he should take the rest of the big guys. So far he has two titles, with 13 defenses. You can hardly rip on Mayweather's resume as of right now.

DLH should've lost the fights against Whitaker, Molina, Quartey, and Sturm. In all these fights I had him losing on points. I scored the Trinidad fight 114-114 dead even.

The only reason he beat Chavez was because he was past his prime and fighting above his weight.

I'm not ragging on DLH; I like him. But, we can't argue the fact that he benefited from good matchmaking and a few key gift decisions. He was brought along quite well by Bob Arum and co.

Now, tho, DLH is old and can't compete with the elite. He loses to Zab and Margarito (big time to Margairto) at 147 and can't beat Ouma or Wright at 154.

For whomever said he never ducked anyone forgot he ducked Winky for years. The only reason he got a title at 154 was because he fought for a vacated title against Castillejo. I suppose he would've got one from Vargas, but that's not the argument. He also didn't deserve a title at 160, even if it was the WBO.

Oscar De la Hoya is the P4P best boxer of the past 10 years. He lost to Mosely1 Hopkins, and Sturm. But Sturm and Hopkins shouldnt count cause De la Hoya shouldnt have been fighting at 160(Not taking any credit away from Sturm or Hopkins) anyone who thinks Tito beat Oscar or fought to a draw is either ******ed or has ADD and couldnt pay attention to Oscar teaching Tito a boxing lesson.
