Basically Bayaar won the first 8 rounds. You could argue Sexton won one of them. Then Sexton knocked heads with Bayaar in the 9th and gave him a terrible cut. It was a miracle Bayaar made it through the last 4 rounds. He just shut down and tried to smother his way through the fight.

Sexton clearly won the last 4 rounds. But Bayaar easily won 7-8 of the opening rounds.

One judge scores it 116-112 to Bayaar.
Parris had it 116-112 to Sexton
Then the third judge had it 114-114

Parris scored 4 of the first 5 rounds to Sexton, which is just incomprehensible.

Should the fight have been called to a technical decision after the cut, was it really bad?

I'm sick of how corrupt boxing in the UK is. It's nearly as bad as Germany. The Khan/Barrera fight was just as bad. That cut was appalling too.

I think so. But the Sky team mentioned that there is no TD rule for that British title and if the fight was stopped now because of the eye it would be a TKO win for Sexton. I found that amazing, that a fighter down by 8 rounds has the opportunity to headbutt someone and earn a TKO win if they create a decent cut.

That Khan Barrera fight was bad yeah. That fight was made to go into the 5th round so it could be scored. Barrera should have been taken out of there earlier and let it be a NC. Of course that wasn't on Warren's mind, and in the video for the fight you can see him instigating the referee to stop the fight once it reached past the NC watershed.

Oh and....guess who the referee for that fight was...

We can only hope he's on form for tomorrow night. You can be sure as soon as Katsidis has so much as a bloody nose he'll be stopping the fight. Only if it's after the 4th round is complete of course.

Yeah, Darren McDermott lost to Wayne El**** due to a clash of heads in round 2. Really bad way of handling things, and it meant that McDermott lost his undefeated record as well. I've no idea why they don't just call a ND in situations like that.
