You will never find a rival unless you challenge yourself consistantly......something Floyd hasn't done in his career.

    For all we know:
    Casa at 130
    Johnston at 135
    Tszyu at 140
    Cotto at 147
    Margarito 147
    Williams at 147
    Winky at 154

and a bunch of other fighters could have fit that bill. To assume he was just too good as to why he didn't have a rival is a bit naive IMO.

SRL had Hearn(or Duran, however you see it)

        even Pacquiao has JMM.

I guess that's why very few give him the credit he is due, because he hasn't been forced to rise above an evenly matched opponent, wouldn't say it's his fault, just not anyone that can step to his skill & conditioning.
I see exactly what you mean. Floyd will never get his credit. All the people that came in and discredited him were Pac's fans. He did have a rival in Castillo but he won the second fight in a convincing fashion. He wanted more money than what he was offered to fight Margarito, Shane didn't want him in his prime, Cotto's Team did not think Cotto was ready at 140lbs. Why are people forgetting when Floyd use to say after every fight that he wanted to fight the best. Then when he got in the driver's seat, away from Arum, he's a ducker. Mayweather is physically gifted and his only competition would have been the fighters of the past.

Mayweather-Mosley is the rivalry that should have happened if Mosley decided to take Floyd's first call out back in 2005.

its everyone else's fault that Floyd couldnt get a rival...gotcha

On merit, Castillo could have fought him again, but with both decisions having gone PBF's way, it was acceptable for it not to happen. I wish it would have though, since both men stayed at LW after the fight. Those were 2 good fights.
Castillo is not a real rival, because there has to be a rivalry going outside the ring too to make it a real rivalry.

The rematch happened only because of the controversy surrounding the first fight, not because something great happened between them that creates a ring rivalry.
