Why does Ward get to fight 2 in a row in Oakland?

All the other fighters had to to travel at least once.

It was part of his contract in joining the Super Six, he demanded it and he got it.

I never understood why a guy who wasn't a champion and had a pretty weak resume going into the tournament got all fights on American soil..

From what I've heard its all business related. Tbh the other two Americans aren't much of a draw. Ward has a fairly large following.

Pretty much, no one stopped it so wouldn't you do the same if you could?

Doesn't make sense but you have to give his management team credit for making it happen

The home advantage thing is being talked about more and more now...

Rightfully so you might say. But I think in the end...

The best fighter will win the tournament

There is a simple reason why Ward got his fights at home.

Mostly because of the arrogance and ignorance of Sauerland Event.

They knew Kessler would have to travel once and they set it up so that he would travel for his "easiest" fight first. They though Ward was a pushover and they believed the hype that Kessler was by far the best in the tournament.

They let Ward have his fights at home because, quite simply, they did not regard him as a threat to Kessler. They thought that Kessler would whoop Ward's ass and then Taylor would whoop his ass and he would be out. They just don't know much about boxing and are complaining now because theyve been made to look like fools.

They brought over Kessler and Abraham for fights they believed were easy and they both got their asses kicked from pillar to post. The cried like bitches and made excuses after the fights instead of giving credit to better fighters. Now this complaining about Ward having an advantage is just a continuation of the whiny ass loser behavior that Sauerland and their fighters are known for.

Also, maybe the fact that all 3 fights are on American soil has something to do with 2 of 3 being against Americans.

If Kessler hadnt traveled for Ward he would have had 3 fights in Denmark where he has a huge advantage. Ward will likely fight Dirrell in Detroit or New York which is advantage Dirrell.

If all the fights take place in someone's hometown in the first round then that has to mean some fighters are going to get less home fights then others based on the numbers. Abraham is basically getting two home fights and I think there's a good chance that Kessler will fight Green at home giving him 2 fights as well. I'll agree it's kind of BS if Ward gets 3 home fights in the first round but I guess that's what good negotiation gets you.

He doesn't get 3 home fights, Jesus Christ you guys are thick.

The Dirrell fight will not be in Oakland, or in California for that matter.

Ward will have to travel to Detroit or New York and fight in front of a Pro-Dirrell crowd.

The only BS is that uninformed posters keep pretending that Ward is gonna have all 3 fights in his hometown just for the sake of bitching and moaning when Shaw has already stated that under no circumstance is Dirrell going to Oakland.
