Because it's the ***ing truth! An objective journalist isn't someone that shares your opinions all the time or takes your side no matter what. It's a journalist with ethics and is honest about everything.

i'm not sure if you can classify a commentator as a journalist. and let's face it the guy likes pac more than he likes floyd...not even sure if he do like floyd at all. but you can deny the fact that he provided some valid points. in fact his opinions make more sense than most posters here but you can see a lot of these keyboard warriors trying to trash him just because they don't like what he said.

He was coming into the ring at 146 pounds while Baldy was 165. Pac was a good 150 or higher for both his last 2 fights in the ring but he's a 140 pounder. Come on now.

Pac is built like a rock while Floyd was a flat board in those fights with Mitchell, Zab, and Baldy but everyone said he was a true big WW and Pac isnt? Dude knocked Cotto the **** out and owned Oscar & Clottey. All 3 are big guys but Pac is not a WW. I can see that Floyd might as well not even take this fight because the credit wont be there again
        ^^^^^^^ real talk

3 pounds isn't weakening anyone come the *** on and even with the catchweight he was still 10-15 pounds lighter than his opponents come fight night (Not counting De la Hoya of course).
I dont happen to believe that it changed the outcome of the fight but to fighters who dry out to make weight, yes 2-3 lbs will weaken them. What do you think would have happened if for example Pavlik vs Martinez was at 158? Why do you think he asked for it against Cotto but not against Clottey?

And what about the fact the more stringent testing has been requested by boxers before, and it didnt stop the fights from happening? Again there is precedent here.

He doesn't have to agree with me for him to be objective. Stop that BS.

I said larry wasn't objective because he points out facts only when they suit his agenda. I used as an example the fact he was on TV saying floyd ducked certain fighters including Shane Mosley.

yet the truth was floyd challenged mosley twice, the last time he challenged him in a post fight inetrview with merchant. Merchant then asked shane about it directly and shane said he had to get his tooth fixed.

For larry to not mention the above paragraph when moting he felt floyd ducked shane is not telling the truth so I conclude in this respect he is not being objective.

Can we agree on this pint? Am I telling the truth?

i think 3 lbs makes a hell of a lot of difference in boxing, especially if one guy has to get lower than the weight max ie cotto at 147 would've been better than at 145 a weight he hadn't made in 3 yrs.

He was fighting at 140 3 years ago sir not 145 plus as I said he rehydrated just fine. Again either way you slice it Cotto could have always said no but he didn't which is the reason why you can't compare the two.

Plus cotto who is always full of excuses after he loses a fight never said anything about the weight affecting him at least not to my knowledge.

Larry writes for the philadelphia daily news and'or the philly inquirier(sp). he has been a columnist for more than 35 yrs.

I acknowledged he made excellent points in my 1st post. I jsut thought he could be more balanced.

cotto was having trouble making 147 when he fought jennings. He hadn't fought weighing less than 147 for sevral fights. Not saying Pac wouldn't of won.

I think cutting the extra 2 lbs made a difference.
