What if Cotto watched the 1st 3 or 4 rounds and stopped watching? Are his comments that ridiculous then?

In absolute calm and tranquility, the Caguas native Miguel Cotto said on Tuesday afternoon that he is focus in his traning camp in Tampa preparing for the title shot to be on 5 June against Yuri Foreman, junior middleweight champion of the World Boxing Association (AMB), in the new Yankee Stadium.

"All is well, thank God. Working well and strong for this fight, "Cotto said by telephone to El Nuevo Dia from Tampa, where he trains under the guidance of new coach Emanuel Steward, and the rest of the working group.

He reiterated, even, that this new working relationship has served to dust off the boxing skills that he had stopped using in the last stage of his career, which includes high-profile setbacks in July 2008 against Mexican Antonio Margarito and last November against Filipino Manny Pacquiao.

"Nothing has changed. We have simply removed the code again things that we had forgotten, and we had well kept, "Cotto said, referring to his movement and mobility in the ring.

He rejected, to offer comment on Margarito's return to boxing with a comfortable win by decision on Saturday on Roberto Garcia, after serving about a year suspension because he tried to load his gloves for his fight last year with Shane Mosley.

He lso revealed that he only saw a couple of rounds of the recent landslide victory by point of Floyd Mayweather Jr. over Mosley, who according to Cotto, looked "worn for some reason, overtrained or whatever." And of the winner said, he looked "defensive, as usual."

Shane didn't overtrain....he is a pro....he even said on 24/7 they were training really light in the last week of camp to avoid overtraining.......he just got beat to the punch and that was that.....floyd got off first......

Well Corley had Mayweather out on his feet and Judah knock him down, so what do we know, right?

Mayweather was stunned not "out" on his feet. He even won the remaining part of the round Cotto staggered across the ring on rubber legs trying to survive. If you think Mayweather was as hurt as Cotto was you're showing your ignorance.

But he remained in a defensive posture, and intelligently chose his punches. Floyd stood in close, but he wasn't looking to get caught with another right hand.

What was he suppose to do? Come forward, walk his man down, and just throw punches. Every fighter should intelligently choose their shots. He was aggressive/toe to toe and more on the attack mode against Shane. Compared to alot of his fights in the past, he was less defensive.

im in no way takin away from cotto's accomplishments. he fought the best, yes. not at all the point im tryna make. im comparing cotto's chin to floyds chin by lookin at a similar fighter the two fought. u get it??

Exactly, if you fight the best, you are going to have a harder time beating the best and sometimes not looking great at doing so. Floyd fought JMM, not a bum, but a guy much smaller than him and he came in over weight, of course he is going to look good doing it. He fought SSM but SSM is 38 yrs old. Not a bum, but a guy that is old and has been in alot of battles. Floyd is a good fighter, no one can take that from him, but he has not fought the best out there. If he did, he would have been rocked many more times than just by SSM.
