there is a reason why Paul wasn't throwing as many punches and it's because of Kermit's overhand and once Paul started throwing more and more Kermit landed more and more and wobbled him, trust me it will only have been worse for Paul that night, I can't speak for another night because they might meet again and Paul KO's him in the 1st round but on THAT night Kermit came to win.
The reason why Paul wasn't throwing many punches was because Peterson told him to cool it for the first couple of rounds. You can hear his instructions in the corner and Paul confirmed it at the end of the fight. He was to be economical with his offense until Kermit began to open up more. I just don't think they expect Kermit to have much pop in his punching. but as soon as Paul started letting go, its more than obvious that something happened to Kermit mentaly.

Anyway, Kermit is an example of why I think Williams beats Mayweather. No one can tell me that Mayweather has the kind of power to make Paul respect him and drop his output. This "Floyd's power is very underrated" ***** wont apply to someone that has competed above 154. Floyd in no way is a harder puncher than Margarito, Martinez and Cintron. Against larger opponents, Floyd has to make then hesitant in order to be successful. There is absolutely no way that he would make Paul scared to let his hands go.

Let's also ignore the fact that he was hurt like never before in his career and still stayed on his feet and calmed down/controlled the situation and didn't quit like victor ortiz.

Like if he doesn't have another year or two years of being a prospect.

I am mad though how televisa is trying to sell him as the next Julio Cesar Chavez when he won't even get close to it. I'm not being a nut hugger, Kid is going to become a world champ, He'll make some money but he's not gonna be an ATG.

Only the ricans on here talk **** about him being over hyped, The kid has potential and you have to be ****ing blind to not see it.

ahahahahaha look at who just got mad for ****ing with them the way he wanted to **** with PWill fans

      wow this was easy

as for Canelo we could debate this but I don't see a whole lot with him

I talk to George a lot and thats exactly what he was trying to do

he knew Ronnie Shields was going to try and get Kermit to counter Williams' activity so he wanted to see what patterns Kermit was going to fall into then let P go

laters? what are you 12? this isn't ******* young man.

              about Canelo?

              okay since you asked

he squares up far too much for my liking. that is a recipe for being countered with crisp hooks

his footwork is pretty bad and plodding. He chases quite a bit and does not cut off the ring very well. Even in early stages lots of fighters learn how to cut off the ring rather than chase.

his handspeed is pretty good and I was impressed by his arsenal. Also he throws in bunches which I liked and he was accurate.

defensively though he is way too stiff in the upper torso for him to avoid punches coming back and as tense as he was in his beck thats going to cause a few knockdowns over his career

like I said not sold on him

              happy now?

hold aside your bias, hold aside what you know and have known about Kermit and just analyze the situation for what it is and you'll realize Kermit didn't really have a choice, we must remember that Paul himself said it in the interview that he heard Kermit saying he wanted to continue fighting but when you have all kinds of officials holding you down and telling you not to move it's not easy to have your way

I agree with your post to a certain extent. Kermit has average boxing ability, he's not the best but he can move. I do agree that he won the first two rounds with effective movement and timing; however, the third round and fourth (for what it's worth) Paul began pressuring, and landing. Now, I do agree that Williams was given a gift, it should have been AT LEAST a no contest, and at most a Cintron win. I will never say Williams is "perfect" but he is a hell of a fighter that should be commended for his heart and his willingness to say the least.

However, with that being said I do believe Cintron attempted to fight much like the Martinez fight, it would have been a boxing match. Unlike the Martinez fight I see Williams landing more, and wearing down a discouraged Cintron. People say he was "rocked" with those two blows, Williams has taken hard shots before by many fighters dating back to the Margo fight (with bricks). I don't think Cintron would have KO'd Williams. It's all speculation beyond the 4th round, but I would've bet that Williams would've beaten Cintron. In fact Williams can beat Cintron in a re-match. Just my two cents.

That's the thing though, He's still learning.

Not everyone is such a great fighter so early on in their career.

If he can improve on his defense he will become a threat, But as you said he leaves himself way too open at times. If you were to put him in there with a top ww he would've gotten KTOF of course. I'm a fan of the kid, He impressed me but that's just me I'm not going around here saying oh **** he'll be the next JCC. I still think he'll become a threat later on, Give him a year or two to see if he can improve on anything but the kid has talent. As for now GB will protect him even more LOL. Kid will become a threat, He'll be in some major fights. There's other prospects in the division that'll face off against each other sooner or later.

                  Happy? Maybe.
