What are Mayweather's PPV buys with adjusted inflation?

Compared to say Tyson Holyfield that happened 15 years ago?

Kind of like, Avatar is the highest grossing film of all time.. .but when you adjust the inflation percentages... it's not even in the top 10.

Anyone know how to do that?

All the Tyson fights I watched were on a blackbox. I dont know anyone who actually paid for it. I think this was for about 90% of the fights watched back in those days.

But also consider they are measuring buy numbers, and not revenue.

I think you can look at an inflation index and then pretty easily compare the value in a past year to what it would be with the inflation level of today. At least thats what they tried to teach me...

If you are reporting by PPV numbers then inflation is completely irrelevant. Population growth becomes the only relevant factor.

Inflation is when the value of currency goes down.

The value of a person is still the same, last I checked, so a single PPV buy is just as good as a buy in 1997.

                  Reed,

That is why you look at "buys" and not revenue to compare apples to apples. But for gate revenue, you would have to do the inflation indexing.

Movie receipts are always expressed in dollars (as opposed to units) so you must adjust.

                  PPV buys are units.

THE MATH IS PRETTY SIMPLE, AND YOU CAN USE 2 PERCENT ANNUALY.

                    PPV buys are as is.

I think you might mean the live gate revenue.
