    1) If Floyd gave up ten pounds to Corrales, ten pounds to Castillo, 12 pounds to Gatti, and sixteen pounds to Delahoya, then why is the Marquez size difference a big issue for you? Were you incensed about the times Mayweather was at the short end?

    2) How is Marquez moving up two weight divisions different than Larios moving up two weight divisions to fight Pacquiao?

I was going to post the exact same thing, Mayweather has came in many of times as the smaller guy and not once did you ever hear him say "well Corrales is bigger" or "Oscar is Bigger" nor did him trying to drain Corrales or Oscar to come down and fight him, when Mayweather called guys out including Oscar at 154, Mayweather MOVED UP in weight with no problem or complaint he didn't try to drain guys and make them come down in weight

JMM didn't have to take the fight, he called Mayweather out, Mayweather didn't call him out, JMM was the one foolish enough to take his first fight above 135-140 against one of the best and he got picked apart for 12 rounds, he could have took a fight or two at that weight before going after Mayweather but he didn't

They didn't know that there was no cut-off, which is their failure.

But if Floyd really don't want Manny to cheat and he wants an even playing field, he shouldn't have offered 14 days. As PED experts say in the forums, 14 days is enough to cycle off PEDS from the system, hence is useless.

He shoulda stressed OST UNTIL THE FIGHT NIGHT. They don't want and deter cheaters, then they have to stress until the fight night then. But out of arbitration they offered 14 days.

If Manny and his team gets the flack of insisting a cut-off then Team Mayweather's also su****ious as to giving 14 days but then is really not enough to catch a supposed PED user. Much to their claim that they want an even playing field.

Ok COACH my reply didn't include a question huh

        Facts:

Marquez never had a fight above 135 LBS (list all the fight night weights you want, but the fact remains

Floyd refused to come into the weight they originally agreed on

Floyd originally wanted to fight Marquez @ 147 LBS

Floyd keeps talking about how boxing should be an even playing field, but his choices don't reflect that. Sure, you can say that it was Marquez's fault for signing the contract. But then, wouldn't it also be Cotto's fault for agreeing to fight Pacquiao? But thats besides the point, thats not what this thread is about.

How was Marquez/Mayweather fougth on an "even playing field"?
great insight!!!! when has floyd ever fought on an "even playing field"?

That Floyd's a clever little devil isn't he? LOL. Unless he's talking about Donaire of Pac's brother, I don't know any other Phillipino fighter who anyone would relate to being of Philippino descent that mattered (at least to Floyd).

He doesn't say it outright for legal purposes obviously, but the innuendos are clear as day.

well they didn't say no an he(floyd) never changed anything he didn't say also you have to weight this or pay this once manny agreed to his one demand the fight was supposed to be on.

but it seems team pac got scared when floyd said if you agree to ost fights on, then all of a sudden team pacs come whining like a baby about being scared of needles.

And you think you are making a point. lol He used the phrase "even playing field" to describe the situation of him not wanting to fight someone using PED's. Since you dislike Floyd so much, you want to turn around and use that phrase in places where it wasn't intended. If you are so upset about the fact he didn't make weight against Marquez, be mad that Marquez wasn't smart enough to throw in a 10 million dolor penalty like Manny and Roach did. Either way, the way Floyd beat Marquez, there's no way Marquez would have had any more of a chance to win. For Gods sakes, the man drank his own pp and still lost.

late to the party....read through the first 9 pages of the thread.

TS's bad comparison has already been shot down.

                    to summarize.....

using PED's and fighting smaller guys are not comparable in the sense that 1 is illegal, the other is not.

for instance, a smaller guy can ask for a fight with a bigger guy....it's happened before. should the bigger guy feel bad, for being a "naturally" bigger guy?

on the other hand, i've never heard ANYBODY say, "i'd love to compete against somebody that is using PED'S, or loading their gloves." hasn't happened before....won't happen.

exactly, majority of the time he was at an disadvantage when it came to weight, height an some times reach.

but his skill made up for it.
