Serious Question: All Floyd Wants Is An Even Playing Field Right?
Collapse
-
marquez called mayweather and pac out after a big win vs juan diaz. (he was looking for a payday) mayweather was looking for a tune up plain n simple. Mayweather has called out bigger fighters in the past when he was looking to make a name for himself(mosley, dela hoya, winky)

[QUOTE=DLT;8338623]I totally 100% disagree. Ward? How is that the same?
What do you mean how is that the same? Marquez was competing at 135, 2 weight classes below 147. Mayweather won a title at 154, 2 weight classes below 168. Mayweather going up to fight Ward at 168 is the same as Marquez going up to fight Floyd. Thats how its the same and thats how its a mismatch

Facts:
Marquez never had a fight above 135 LBS (list all the fight night weights you want, but the fact remains
Floyd refused to come into the weight they originally agreed on
Floyd originally wanted to fight Marquez @ 147 LBS
Floyd keeps talking about how boxing should be an even playing field, but his choices don't reflect that. Sure, you can say that it was Marquez's fault for signing the contract. But then, wouldn't it also be Cotto's fault for agreeing to fight Pacquiao? But thats besides the point, thats not what this thread is about.
How was Marquez/Mayweather fougth on an "even playing field"?

He doesn't.
Hes accusing Pac of using.
I don't have to go to your job and say, "Coach Webb is using drugs".
I can just say, "I think you should test that Coach Webb guy, he looks su****ious".
Its still an accusation.
Quit acting like we're 5 year olds and taking everything so literal.
The entire premise of this even playing field **** is an accusation and nothing more.
If you want to play the dummy, fine, you're good at it.
I'm not so gullible. I and many others know what this is first hand.
an excuse.

i dont have a problem manny fighting cotto at that weight they agreed to, but dont significantly blow the win outta proportion either, especially when manny came in weighing more than cotto. You dont make a catchweight and then come in heavier and have the guy put the belt on the line.
at least floyd let marquez know and paid the price by paying the fee, marquez still agreed.
pacman demanded a catchweight drained cotto and then came in heavier than cotto!!!!!
These are facts
