Floyd refused to come into the weight they originally agreed on

Floyd originally wanted to fight Marquez @ 147 LBS

Floyd keeps talking about how boxing should be an even playing field, but his choices don't reflect that. Sure, you can say that it was Marquez's fault for signing the contract. But then, wouldn't it also be Cotto's fault for agreeing to fight Pacquiao? But thats besides the point, thats not what this thread is about.

interesting points you got there....at first i though floyd might have picked a past it fighter but then i remembered that he came out of retirement and wanted a tune up fight so he went with JMM and then his main intentions were to fight pac but then due to the rows he ended up fighting mosley. but yeah the point you make about even playing field is right floyd is a bit of a hypocrite for fighting a 135 Pound fighter who has never fighted at 147 before..

i dont have a problem manny fighting cotto at that weight they agreed to, but dont significantly blow the win outta proportion either, especially when manny came in weighing more than cotto. You dont make a catchweight and then come in heavier and have the guy put the belt on the line.

at least floyd let marquez know and paid the price by paying the fee, marquez still agreed.
