Comments Thread For: Martinez More Interested in Margarito Than Floyd Mayweather

WBC/WBO middleweight champion Sergio Martinez is more interested in a rematch with Antonio Margarito, who returned on Saturday night in Mexico, than a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Last week Mayweather said a move to middleweight to challenge Martinez was a possibility if a fight with Manny Pacquiao does not come about. Margarito knocked Martinez out in the seventh round in February of 2000. [Click Here To Read More]

Obviously because he wants revenge and plus he should beat Margarito now. Margacheato knows Martinez can beat him, that is why Margacheato is trying to chase after a big payday against Pacman. I'm hoping Pacman don't give it to him. I rather Pacman fight Berto or Bradley. Come on Pacman! Take someones 0!

I don't think Martinez himself thinks he can beat Floyd. That's strange, because I see that being the toughest fight of Floyd's career. There is no doubt that Martinez would beat the **** out of Margarito at this point. At times he was putting it on Margarito in their first fight, and he has improved tenfold since then.

            If Pac-Money will not happen...

Pac-Margarito is obviously the next option as Arum plan this one before the Clottey fight....

Not sure who Mayweather's next option is, but Martinez or Williams are very credible opponents! He can pick Berto if he wants lesser challenge~~~

Interesting, I thought anyone would want a fight with the likes of Mayweather over Margarito... I guess it's a pride thing, avenging his loss. The Williams loss he can claim he was robbed, he can't really pull that out for the Margarito fight...

I can't blame Martinez for wanting revenge on Margarito

I think this is a great move for Martinez. Go kill the man who once beat you before. Or go fight Paul Williams again.

I don't think Marg will fight Martinez though. Martinez has been looking great in the ring. All this talk about Marg and Pacquiao as a possible bout needs to end. I am sick of hearing Arum act like this would be a great fight and I am sick of hearing Marg act like he deserves a fight with Pacquaio. I supported Marg's return. I do not support his "I am the best, I deserve to fight the best" attitude.
