People must remember Floyd Mayweather is a better fighter than Cotto- much better. Quicker hands, better chin (arguably), better defence, more mobile.

You can't say Pac will beat Floyd because of this video. Styles make fights- Cotto is a brawler, Floyd is not a brawler

We will have to wait and see.

But what I can tell you now is Mayweather Jr:

          - is faster than Cotto, by a huge margin.
          - has better footwork than Cotto and paces himself better.
          - has better defence than Cotto. Cotto can't use his shoulders to roll of a punch. He tries to catch them with the gloves. You don't do that when punches are coming in from all angles.
          - can fight going backwards. Cotto can't cope with being pressured.
          - has better ring intelligence and can adjust if required.
          - and last...IF this fight ever happens it won't be at a catchweight and Mayweather Jr. would probably dictate the terms at the table.

You simply can't compare Cotto with Mayweather Jr. Two different fighters and one is leagues ahead of the other when it comes to skills and boxing abilities.

woah.not so fast buddies. i never compared cotto to mayweather in this thread to begin with.
what i'm doing is just showing what pac can do... since most people are bending towards mayweather now --but it's natural since he just got a big win one and a half week ago..

i just don't like one sided comments. that's all.

if it didn't change ur mind its okay. thanks for posting anyway.

Only problem is Mayweather would move back when Pacman throws combos and Pac will be eating Right hands all night long.

pac has the legs and timing to keep up though. but i believed he would eat a lot of those rights.

Floyd gunna tax that ass mayn! haha!! as excited as I would be if the fight gets made, it's also going to suck for me being a huge fan of both fighters.. I see it as a pretty equal fight, giving the slight edge to Floyd.. Lets just hope for a good fight.

Nope, does not change my mind at all. The only take away that can be carried over to an FMJ fight is that Pac can take a WW punch. It's hard to see pac getting KOed by FMJ. The Clottey fight was more telling because of Clottey's high guard. It showed Pac has the concentration and is capable of a high work rate even if he misses most of his power shots.

                  As for the mythical fight..
Mayweather does not use the shoulder roll on lefties (with speed) because this leaves him open for straight left. If Pacman tags him with a hard left, he will fire back. If you penetrate his defense he becomes offensive, dispenses the shoulder roll and puts his hands up a lot more, like in the judah, corley and mosely fights. If FMJ becomes too offensive, pac will drown him in punches.

Pacman on the other hand will struggle with Mayweather's freakish reach, lead rights and uppercuts. I can easily see FMJ winning via boring UD if he keeps his distance.

After the Cotto fight I picked FMJ by wide UD. After the Clottey fight, still FMJ by close UD. After the Mosley fight, I think it can go either way. IMO, the dark horse in terms of skill is Pac's vaulted footwork. Are those legs fast enough to get in and out of range, and keep him in weird angles where he can throw bombs?

That is basically the way I see the fight too. If Floyd chooses to engage Manny, Pacmans hand speed will utterly destroy him.

Floyd on the other hand can pull a Marquez and box from the outside and embarrass Manny.

So I have Floyd winning a UD unless he gets caught by a punch and decides to engage (like he did in the Mosely fight).
