How can this equate to "FIGHTER OF THE DECADE"?

come on we all know Pacman got the Fighter of the Decade because it is many writers who don't like Mayweather personally, they made that a PERSONAL thing with Floyd but that will end up being a reward that people look back and laugh at if they fight and Mayweather destroys himComment

How was he on the downside when he was only 27-28 years old and beat the following opponents:
Naseem Hamed 35-0 (man at 126 and my favorite fighter at the time)
Enrique Sanchez 28-1
Erik Morales 41-0
Johnny Tapia 52-2
Kevin Kelley 54-5
he then lost to Manny yet beat the following proven he wasn't shot:
Paulie Ayala
Erik Morales again
Robbie Peden
Rocky Jaurez 2x
Sorry son, but step your hate game up

it's because Pac had an amazing 2 years after the Marquez fight and the ones voted were feeling gitty about him dominating Hatton DLH and Cotto I guarantee if the voting took place a year earlier or this year Manny would be 3rd place at best.Comment

Here's a post of mine from Operationsports boxing forums. I had gotten in a heated debate, so keep in mind the context. It was a debate comparing the two's resumes.
Marquez came into the second Pacquiao fight weighing 141 lbs. Pacquiao came in at 145. Oddly, and I love how people forget to mention this, Marquez came in at 144 in the Mayweather fight, while Floyd came in at 146. Practically negligible difference. Furthermore, JMM called Floyd out, not the other way around. He was looking to fight Pacquiao for a third time, but of course Pac declined, thus he fought Floyd. Also, why is it when Pac moves up in weight to fight bigger opponents it's amazing, yet when JMM does the same, it's considered a travesty?
People never call foul when it's Mayweather coming in as the smaller man, yet are up in arms when the tables are turned. You'll never here anyone mention how Diego Corrales came in at 147 against Mayweather, giving him a 10 lb weight advantage, or that Floyd gave up 9 lbs to Jose Luis Castillo in both bouts. How Floyd came in the much smaller man against Oscar De La Hoya, as he fought him at his natural weight, and was giving up nearly 10 lbs on fight night. You never here this because those who critique Floyd live by double standards, and the hypocrisy is getting old.
Hatton walks around at around 160+. Cutting to 147 is an easier task for him than cutting to 140. And here's another fun fact people like to dismiss in reference to Floyd "making him come up to 147". Ricky Hatton, two bouts prior to his bout with Mayweather, fought Luis Collazo at 147.
Why would team Mayweather believe Mosely was shot? Mosely was coming off one of the biggest win of his career, against the WW champion, catapulting himself up both the WW and P4P rankings. Before the bout, everyone was talking about how dangerous a fight this was for Floyd and how he'd possibly be KO'd, but of course once he was dominated by Floyd, tunes changed. Same ole song and dance.
Lets look at the reality behind Pacs resume.
1. Beats prime Barrera: Good win, and best win of his career by far.
2. Gets outboxed by fading Morales
3. Beats a completely shot Morales, whom of was coming of a bout where he lost 11 of 12 rounds to journeyman Zahir Raheem. After the Raheem bout, Morales never recorded another win until his comeback 5 years later.
4. Beats Oscar Larios in his next fight, who was coming off a bout where he was brutally KO'd by Israel Vasquez. Boxrec: "Pacquiao stunned by a right hand in the third"
5. Has a draw with, and win over Marquez. Bouts many people believe he lost. He was dominated in compubox statistics.
6. Beats a shot DLH, who was both dehydrated and weight drained, admissions coming from both Oscar and team Pacquiao. In fact, according to Oscar, the difference between the version of himself that fought Floyd and the one that fought Pacquiao was like night and day. Furthermore, the only reason Roach accepted the fight is because he thought Oscar was past his prime both physically and mentally, the punishment to his face from the Steve Forbesbout, according to Roach, was an obvious indication that DLH was done for. Thus, he took the fight. Also, people fail to take into account that the fight was at 147, and by this time, Oscar hadn't had a fight at 147 since his bout with Arturo Gatti in March of 2001. His following fights were all at JMW and above. DLH was hooked to an IV just so he could rehydrate.
7. Destroys Ricky Hatton who had previously been thrashed by Mayweather. Hatton's previous fight was an unimpressive victory over Lascano where Hatton was almost KO'd, obviously showing he was shot. Perfect candidate for Pac/Roach.
8. Forces Cotto down to 145, and dominates him. Cotto was coming off a fight where he'd been brutalized by Antonio "Plaster Hands" Margarito, a fight that many believed ruined him. He'd also had a bout with Clottey, which many people believe he lost.
9. Beats Clottey, who threw 5 punches per round and was basically a sparring partner.
The greatness of manny Pacquiao is a myth. Floyd need not worry about any "black marks" on his career, as anyone who cares to look at the situation subjectively knows who's ducking who. In reality, 10 years from now when USADA testing is the standard, people will question why Manny Pacquiao was so adamantly opposed to something overwhelmingly positive. Something that'd give the sport back it's integrity. And like all athletes who duck and dodge steroid and PED talk, the validity of his achievements will be questioned. Floyd on the other hand, will be looked on in a positive light. He'll be remembered as the fighter who pushed for more stringent testing, and people will love him for it. He's hated as Ali was during the height of his career, but in the end, just as Ali is, he'll be loved.Comment
