How can you diss him after this fight? You can say that you think he's a little overrated "in terms of all the hype he gets". You can say that you dont think he will beat this guy or that guy but he also doesnt deserve all the hate he gets. 1st off I have like 3 basic problems with Williams. One is that his speed is so up & down. Its up & down in different fights and alot of times all in one fight. One second he looks like he has nice speed and the next second he looks like he's slower than even average guys. Anyone notice that? Its weird.
Still, the #1 reason why I made this thread tonight is because of what I saw in the corner. Did you guys watch his corner? If you did then how can you still rip him? Peterson is a local guy to me so I hate to rip him but he gets way too much credit for taking Williams from nothing to Champion. The guy is a freak who wouldve made it with any trainer. Williams shouldve moved on a long time ago. Williams boxing skills are so undeveloped. All he does is throw a million punches a round. Its like the gift & the curse. Its all he does so he looks like an amature at times but no other guy in boxing can throw non stop like him, and then he's 6'3 & a Southpaw on top of it.
I think Peterson heard the criticism about that and saw that Williams wasnt being as good as he could be and he tried to make him fight differently tonight. Thats why you cant judge him on tonight. In the corner you could hear Peterson trying to convince Williams and you could see that Paul was upset but didnt want to be disrespectful. He wanted to trust his coach but didnt feel that he was telling him the right thing. Peterson was telling him to sit back all night and let Cintron come to him. Then when Cintron commits, he wants Paul to come over the top with the right hand.
The problem is that Cintron is uncoordinated and times that by 10 with Southpaws. Then he was also scared of Williams so he wasnt coming forward at all. That made Paul so confused and he basically just stood there the whole time until the last round. At the end of every round he would come to the corner and look at Peterson like he wants to be his normal self and take the fight to Kermit but Peterson would keep saying "trust me". "Just sit back and he will come to you". "I promise you". Cintron never did though. Then in that final round Paul basically said "F-U and went back to his normal self and thats when he started scoring. Peterson's game plan ******. Cintron has no heart so he shouldve just told Paul to jump on him. Cintron wouldve probably quit like he always does and he really did this time again.
Instead Peterson acted like he thought Cintron would fight like this manic who would press Paul all night and try to fight like Margarito or something. It never happened so Paul just stood there, and the crowd booed. He turned the most fan friendly guy in the sport to a boring clown on the night that people wanted to see him step up as a legitimate opponent to the big 2. I hope Paul leaves him. Still, if you judge him off this then you are foolish. It was 90% Peterson's fault. Paul definitely has some flaws and thats why I always said that I think Floyd beats him and I have always said that Pac has a much better shot than people think. I truly think Pac can beat him but I also wouldnt be shocked if he beat those guys. His trainer stinks though, just like Berto's does
