Many, many fighters cut a lot of weight to make the class they are in. Very few fighters cut little weight to make the limit.

People often go after Williams for it.....but why don't they say anything about Dawson, Donaire, Hasegawa, etc. These guys have all shed 15+ pounds in recent fights, but nothing is said about it.....

Exactly, I can't believe that there are posters who think he has not earned his shot yet.

If he hasn't then I don't know who has.

So Martinez has fought at MW before right? Technically it wasn't his first time right?
My bad, I didn't check BoxRec before I made the post.

I have no problem with a Mayweather-Williams fight. It just means nothing in the long run.

Beat two top 10 fighters. And, he never lost his WW title in the ring

If he hasn't earned a shot then who has? Berto? Bradley? Who? Alvarez? malignaggi? Alexander? Who has earned a shot then?

Because, they're not a serious threat to some of these posters favorite fighters.

I agree I dont think he should go back down to Welterweight but if he can then nobody can stop him doing it. As for him putting on alot of weight during the weigh in - fight perioid, Alot of people go on and on about this but I think its more of a disadvantage to the fighter because his body will be uncomfortable with the extra weight. We've seen this with alot of fights like Pavlik vs Martinez, De La Hoya vs Mayweather, and even going back James Toney vs Roy Jones Jr. Putting on loads of weight hinders the fighter as much as it helps them IMO. It makes you more sluggish

It's all about skills in boxing, not how much you weigh come fight time

I'm a Floyd fan and I want to see Floyd vs P.Will as much as I want to see Floyd vs Pac.

Truth is P.Wills promoter didnt build him to sell tickets and although Paul is making good money and fighting entertaining fights, his lack of a market is hurting any chance of that fight happening.

                      He lost to Martinez.

Mosley was the last guy to earned a shot against Floyd. I want Williams to fight and beat Martinez before he even thinks about fighting Floyd or Pac. The fight has to take place at 154 because I don't want to hear any bs about Williams being weight drained.
