On Sunday morning, immediately after the fight, a certain esteemed poster sent me a message discussing precisely this issue.

I won't say who he is, but props to him for surfacing that as a possibility.

    I'm hearing TWO things:

    1) Shane got tired.
    2) Shane looked smaller and weaker.

Is the current thinking that Shane went back to a comprehensive BALCO-esque program?

You're not scaring me with your little temper tantrum my man. I've read your reasoning behind your position, but I've dismissed it because it's petty and doesn't hold weight. You sound like a crybaby mad at someone for expressing opinions that you don't want to hear. The fact of the matter is that Atlas was asked to express his thoughts and feelings on the fight, and that's what he did. You don't have to agree with how he feels about what he saw because it was his opinion, not yours. He didn't come out and accuse Mosley of anything, he simply offered a possible explanation for how Mosley looked during the fight. It's quite possible that this was the first fight that Mosley has entered the ring PED-free for awhile, and that's the reason he looked gassed, sluggish, or whatever. I've already said that I don't necessarily agree with that explanation because I think that all of Mayweather's opponents eventually look like Mosley did when they fight him. That doesn't change the fact that Atlas's speculation could possibly be true.

I think that the real reason that people like you have a problem with Atlas's comments is because they highlight the need for more stringent drug testing in boxing, and Pacquiao(this website's hero) is currently on the wrong side of that argument.

If a guy is going to get tired after just four rounds, it won't be just a physical breakdown. Shane became fatigued and frustrated for other reasons.
What reasons do you think it is?

this is why teddy atlas is sometimes very hard to take seriously. shane was training for almost 2 months against berto til the fight fell off then he had to train for another 2 months and make weight against mayweather. i think his body has worn out during training and not because he wasnt on peds

            ?
I don't know if he went back. I am not going to say he did.

However, what about if he never left? All this people were giving him props cuz he took the blood test. And, a lot of people who were giving him props were Pacquiao haters lets be real.

But, when Zab asked him for a blood test they said no. And, that is what really had me think about this. I understand if he said no and he never been caught. But, he was in the Balco scandal and he still said no.

And, lets see why he took it with Floyd? One because it was the biggest payday of his career. Two because he needed the money to payoff his nasty divorce. Which in California law would have you screwed.

I don't know, that seemed like Sugar Shane for the first two rounds and then all of a sudden he didn't seem like his "normal" self...

              Jros,

I had to be reminded that Shane declined to take a blood test against Zab Judah. See, I thought nothing of it because he simply said "NO!".

So how much easier would it have been if Pacquiao did the same? Just saying...

Don't think so. On 24/7, Shane put alot of emphasis on not overtraining. So I refuse to believe he did.

                  Yeah, age and shotness.

Calling him a 4 round fighter at this point would be a compliment.

We know why YOU refuse to believe it, but the fact of the matter is that he was in training for the Berto fight too.

He basically did 2 training camps back to back.
