And what is he talking about belts are very important to him... mayweather doesnt want to fight for the belt which means that win or loose martinez gets to keep it. Besides mayweather may want to fight him at 154 and not 160 he hasnt really said yet.

This would be really weird if martinez starts to make an excuse not to fight mayweather with the reason being he wants to be paid LESS and pay the sanctioning or diamond belt fees. You dont see that one too often usually they want more money.

I mean its the opportunity of a lifetime both in terms of legacy and money to get to face mayweather. **** the belt.

oh and the other thing they dont really give over the belt anyways, they make a new one each time. So they still get to keep a belt to put up on their wall or whatever. he already has pavliks belt

so why does he want to pay extra to defend it, that is just silly. he can face mayweather and still keep the title win or loose. And if he does loose the title later at some point he will still have the ****** belt to put on display.

Martinez is no different than Urango, he just wants to fight in a class, win or lose, and keeps his belts at the class he has those belts, basically a free payday, no way homey, Floyd can come up to 160 and snatch that strap.

Martinez doesn't have the recognition or titles Mayweather has, therefore he wants to acquire some recognition. Nontheless, Fighting Mayweather in itself will do that in my opinion.

Aside from the Belt crap/BS, this would be a pretty darn good fight due to the fighters styles and skills. I think if Mayweather beats Martinez it places him as the best of this era, even if he does not fight Pacquiao. Mayweather fought OLDH at Jr middleweight and if beats the skilled Martinez it will show that he has been willing to go and fight the bigger guys WITHOUT CATCHWEIGHT OR CONDITIONS.
