Finkel: "We offered Toney $3M and still haven't heard back from them!"
    By G. Leon
June 17, 2005 - Moments ago Vitali Klitschko's advisor Shelly Finkel responded to our interview with Dan Goossen by basically telling us that Goossen was full of it. At first Team Klitschko offered Toney 35% of the pot, only to have Goossen and Toney respond by demanding parity on **********. Finkel explained that after Toney demanded 50-50 Team Klitschko offered Toney a $3M guarantee with a bonus if the fight took place for the WBC title. "When they came up with the 50-50, I tried to find another way to get it done and e haven't heard back from them since we offered the $3M." With Toney now willing to accept 60-40 does that change anything regarding Klitschko's next fight? According to Finkel it's highly doubtful "because we're already pretty far along with the other (Maskaev) fight." Stay tuned to ********** for all the latest.

This was clearly covered and discussed in the other thread on the very 1st page. How you missed it, I don't know.

And this isn't Klitschko making a counter offer to Toney at all. It's Finkle taking a shot back at Goosen. He only mentions that (according to him) he offered Toeny 3 Million a few weeks ago and didn't hear back. Goosen claimed he didn't hear back from Finkle.

Bottom line now is that there's a 60-40 offer on the table for Vitali to fight a credible opponent in a fight where he'd make several million more than he would fighting Maskiev.

    We'll see where this goes...

Is Vitali going to lose his belt for not fighting his mandatory? Or will it matter once Toney takes it from him?

Do you really believe Toney can win?

seriously, why are Toney and Maskaev even in the discussion? Isn't Rahman-Barret for the WBC interim title? I guess Vitali may dump his belt

...**** no Neils doesn't really believe that. That's a shot at the Klit fans. Neils is smart enough to know who the man is, even if he hates to say it.

I think Toney will beat him. I don't know how much of that lies in tha fact that Toney is my favorite fighter outside of Whitaker, but I think he has a decent chance to survive early and win it on points.

u gotta realize that toney is going to have to punch about 9 inches up, jus to land on Klitschkos head, n that jab will work for vitali all night

And you gotta realize that Vitali's going to be punching much lower than usual at and elusive target.

Toney is a notorious body puncher, and when he's in close to Vitali's body Vitali is no longer at his optimal puching range.

This isn't to say it's an advantage for Toney, just not as big an advantage as you're making it out for Vitali.

first of all how is toney gona egt close to vitali, and second vitali is not gonan fight toney his first fight back, u all know i hate toney but he is not a warm up fight by any means, vitali only wants oleg because vitali knows he can KO in 1-3 rounds and isnt dangerous and he is only looking for a fight because he doesnt think the winner of rahman/barret can be ready in 6 weeks, hell vitali might not get any warm ups before he has to fight rahman/baret cause they might be ready in the 6 weeks time
