Why did mainstream media give Floyd no credit and minimal coverage?

On Espn they showed highlights of the fight on the night of the fight.
(Floyd got no credit or praise)

But then come Monday on the sports shows

The topic of the fight was near the end of most of the shows as if this wasnt one of the biggest fight of the year. Most of the writers on the shows I mentioned gave Floyd NO credit for beating Shane. They didnt talk about Floyds masterpiece at all. All they said about the fight was..

    "Shane was old"
    "Shane stopped fighting"
    "Shane hurt Floyd"
    "Shane had a long layoff"
    "The fight was extremely boring"
    "Shane didnt come to fight"

    Pretty much discrediting Floyds win...
Not ONE "Floyd looked great beating the NUMBER ONE WELTERWEIGHT" SMH...
Yet before the fight they say, Mosley is a HUGE threat. Mosley is a real WW. Floyds gonna be on his bike.. etc etc.. Then Floyd stands in front of Shane and beats the breaks off of Mosleys ass.. No one mentions that AT ALL of course..

    Then the Pac nuthugging began!!

    "Pac would knock Floyd out"
    "Floyd is scarred of Pac"
    "Floyds demands are ridiculous"
"Pac agreed to the test, Floyd said it wasnt good enough" WTF? lol
"Floyd doesnt put butts in seats like Pac"

I mean JEEZ.. Casual fans watch these morons and believe them. Totally destroying Floyd and making him look terrible while they praise Pac..

That **** isnt fair and is wrong. Firstly because its bull****. These idiots dont know anything about boxing.

I really hope the fight gets made.. What are all the Floyd haters gonna say when Floyd beats the "MODERN DAY HENRY ARMSTRONG"

Of course they would discredit the win somehow someway

Cuz' it was a stale fight and everyone could tell that Mosley was shot and couldn't pull the trigger past 2 rounds.

Why celebrate a win over a 2 round fighter?

The media can totally get in people's heads. I was out the other day and a guy who doesn't follow boxing at all, but knows I do, asked me about the Mosley Mayweather fight.

I said it was a shockingly masterful performance by Floyd and that I can't think of anybody that can beat him at the moment.

He then went on to tell me that he thinks Pacquiao would knock him out.

I just said "We'll have to wait and see."

I think it's because Pacquiao is a more likable person to the average person and Floyd isn't. People only see him throwing money around and hear what other people say about him and have never seen him fight.

I do know that Jim Rome is a huge Mayweather fan I would be shocked to hear him say anything bad about him.

All Floyd has to do Is sign the Contract and fight Pac!!! Floyd already said Pac has no skills and yet he has many excuses not to go on with the fight. As long as he keeps on ducking Pac, The media will keep on bashing him!!

Rome had Floyd on the show before the fight and they got into a semi argument because he didnt like Floyd saying "im the best ever"

So after the fight. Rome says, "Mosley was old, shot, and and was on a long lay off and looked like it"

Soo.. To me thats hating.. He didnt say Mosley was the #1 WW and the best option after Pac.. Of course not.. Just bashed him

Im not saying praise Floyd, just give the man credit.
If it were Pac who dominated Shane, then he would have been showered with praise. And he would destroy Mayweather comments.. Come on people

Maybe because the image that Floyd has potrayed for himself cannot be stomached by the mainstream media. Dont get me wrong, he's a great boxer, but not all media knows or follows boxing that much. And make no mistake, the image that Floyd created for himself leaves a bad taste to most people..I mean when you potray as a degenerate gambler, a loud talkin' disrespecting ****** then you are bound to offend some people.

Pac might be the same as Floyd behind the scene (you know a ego-maniac) but he packages himself differently compared to Floyd. Simply put his more of a politician type of character with a good life story, and the media eats up on it. He can be package as better product endorser than Floyd as long as he doesnt talk.

So I dont understand why some people here even bother to ask this question. Its not like Floyd didnt ask for it. Its the character that he built for himself. Some people like it, some people dont. But the mainstream media still hasnt caught up with it yet.

It's because Floyd's acting scared all the time. He could have fought the younger Mosley instead of Baldo, Corley, Bruselles, Michelle, and JMM. He could have fought Tzsu. He could have fought Margarito, Pwill, Berto instead of fake retirement. When All fans asking for him to fight Pac, He then create a scenario just not to fight Pac. Why??? The Big Money was there!!! There should be no more excuses!!!
