The trouble is we can say SRL had a few problems against people pf a lesser caliber then floyd but we've never seen floyd fight someone even nearly as good a SRL. In my mind it's a tossup and very difficult to decide.
Serious Question about what if? SRL vs Floyd Mayweather jr

Ray would beat the tar out of Mayweather. Then again Floyd would never fight a prime Leonard. As Mayweather has shown since going to welterweight he'll only fight real small guys or guys with a name who are way past their prime. Mosley was 38 years old, had'nt fought is 16 months and even then got his latest claim to fame by beating an exposed cheater named Margarito. I still believe that Floyd is a media generated superfighter at welterweight and how anyone can legitmately compare him to any fighter like SRL who fought the best of the best in there PRIME is laughable. This whole blood testing balony with the pacman was just another smokescreen to avoid fighting a legitmate opponent. Let PACman start slipping and Mayweather will be screaming to fight him. Never bought in to Mayweathers smokescreens and never will . He's a good weelterweight could maybe be great but won't because he lacks the real confindence to fight the really big fights.Comment

The guy was 40 years old, well past his prime and Mayweather was nearly KO'd in 2 and would've been KO'd in 3 had he been 5 years younger and these guys want to talk about him like Ali or SRL. Come on, catch a grip, he's a safe defensive fighter who has taken minimal risks throughout his career to protect himself and build his record.
No more hype please.Comment

He's actually 38, and coming off one of the biggest wins of his career against the #1 WW. Mayweather by the way, is 33. Neither of them are in their physical prime.

He wasn't close to being KO'd and you don't know what would have happened if they were both 5 years younger. A 28 year old Floyd likely wouldn't even have been hit with those two big shots.
Ali's been wobbled before, as has SRL.
Fortunately, your opinion is irrelevant.Comment

Good to see an objective fan.SRL is my username for a reason and thats because i grew up a huge fan but im not not the type to automatically favor older fighters as i get older. I got a question? How come some boxing fans have Ray just flat out dominating when he couldn't just flat out dominate Floyd Mayweather Sr, Wilfred Benitez, Ayub Kalule.
Now later on in those fights he looked impressive, but lets break them down. The Floyd Mayweather Sr fiight with the exception of the 10th round SRL speed looks good but not to the point where im like daaaaaamn when i watch prime Roy Jones or Mayweather jr. Make him miss and POOOOOOW. Im not seing that at all. The Benitez fight SRL speed looks very good early but as he tires he starts throwing wide punches and the same jab, attempted right hand over and over. Actually in rounds 2 and 3 SRL keeps trying to throw the same jab over right hand.
The Kalule fight. Ray wins by a 9th round TKO but got hit a lot in the fight with counterpunches. Kalule is slow as malasas on a slow summer day in alaska. Dude is slow as heck. How the heck did he even land like that on Ray? Ray walked through his shots because he had no power but makes me wonder if he did and had some speed and defense.
I think some fans favor older eras cause they grew up on them. They favor the older in more convincing fashion when the older couldnt even dominate a opponent from back then who is much worse than a opponent years later in a fantasy matchup.
Don't listen to the idiots saying that SRL gets the 4th round TKO. That's crap. But I can picture him throwing a lot of punches, eating some counters and slipping some powerful shots through Floyd's defense. A couple of rounds of good body work and Floyd's incredible head and body movement would start to slow by the seventh or eigth. Then he'd either really have to step his game up on the shoulder roll or go with a traditional guard. Then, when he was forced into the traditional guard, he would have to be more aggressive because he just wouldn't be as unhittable. Floyd showed us he can take a hell of a shot, but I think that Ray might knock him down towards the end unless he faded. Relatively clear UD for Ray, but Floyd gives him a hell of a fight. If it's 15, though, I think that Ray would knock him out.Comment
