They both don't like him. But Merchant deserves to see Floyd fight Pac. Even if it's the last fight he does.

I think what most of you are missing ( no disrespect at all to Hyperion) is that Stewart use to train Tommy Hearns. I grew up around Detroit in the days when the Kronk team was smashing everyone. I don't think he's ever trained a pure boxer like Floyd. It's not his style. He did give Floyd credit and even stated he didn't think Manny could handle Floyd. I don't think a single fighter pays attention to Merchant. RJJ used to go at it with him as did George Foreman. The guy that post this thread is really too sensitive. Stewart gave Floyd his props and he actually went on record as saying it was an even fight and Shane would bring out the best in Floyd and make him fight. That is exactly what he did. What more do you want?

It would be wonderful to watch Merchant commentate a May-Pac fight if Floyd was dominant.

It's OK. Merchant will die soon.

Ehh, no. I remember him specifically saying in the later rounds when it became apparent that Floyd was taking Shane to the shed that he knew of maybe 2-3 people that gave Mosley any chance to win the fight.

I cant even watch the Floyd-Mosley fight from HBO because its so negative from them. All they do in all of his fights is diss him & take credit away when they dont act like that when anyone else fights. It wouldnt bother me if I knew it was all hardcore fans & writers because we can from our own opinions but they have a huge effect on mainstream fans & media.

Yes there is a ton of mainstream boxing media. They think theyre not but if you hear them talk, they clearly dont know **** about the sport. The only 2 guys they even know is Floyd & Pac and all there info basically comes from what they hear from guys like Merchant & Steward. Then they repeat it. The **** is annoying. You dont have to sweat Floyd but atleast be fair. Max & Lennox wouldve given him his due. Even Lampley tried sometimes but was always cut down by the other 2. Then people get upset when Floyd says something bad about them.

Even if they dont like Floyd, they shouldve been talking about how special he is and how great a performance it was because the mainstream will listen to that and want to see more or really think that he is good and want to watch him. Instead, in every fight they make an excuse for why Floyd wins and acts like he's an overrated bum. Then that makes the fans think that and hurts the sport. That **** kills boxing

Merchant was pretty bad that night. Stewart actually gave Floyd some credit but Merchant went out of his way to discredit Mayweather and the fight.

Yeah, that was an outright lie. It was funny that Stewart said "well I was one of them" lol
