This could be true. Particularly because Mayweather was also more offensive-minded when he was younger. He took more risks and got hit more (see: fight with Castillo which he (should have) lost); Mosley would have had more opportunities in that fight.

Still, Floyd's game now is to turn the fight into a one-punch-at-a-time fest. That's it. He will win that contest every time. He'll feign, make a guy miss, and throw a counter. Then his opponent will feel embarrassed, just like he wants them to, and that will go on for 10 more rounds while the audience falls asleep.

He avoids fighting to win a decision. Sadly, no one has been able to exploit it because he's so technically sound once the fight is reduced to that.
