Very true but it's hard not to compare a boxer's handspeed to the fastest guys we can think of.

I wouldn't. Pacquiao and Mayweather are in a class of their own, with only a handful of fighters able to match them. It's not like fighters can't be called skillful without being as skilled as Mayweather, so they can certainly be called fast without being as fast as Pacquiao.

        no i didn't see it.

        2501 doesn't even like pac.

he's okay with pac but he's more a jmm / cotto guy.

JMM has always been in possession of fast hands.

fast hands are a requirement for letting off deadly combos that special fighters of a JMM caliber can let off.

His hands were above average in the speed department. He wasnt slow but he wasnt blazing either. He put his hands together well and had perfect timing.

I wouldn't exactly call him slow, but he definitely wasn't the fastest. Pacquiao, Chris John, Naseem Hamed, and Mayweather all clearly had faster hand speed than him. His main assets were intelligence, timing, and power rather than speed.

So then what you're saying is that he was definitely more equipped and dangerous than a regular brawler?

                    Thank you..
JMM is an absolute accurate counter puncher with great timing..some people want to force or confuse that as handspeed..theres a difference..

and why make a thread about something you were already discussing in another thread..
