    Floyd being this good, yet not going for the kill = less PPV buys

    This is something that I have been reading about.....

    "Floyd is dominating, so dominating to the point, that if he fights anyone else not named Manny Pacquiao...his PPV buys will not even top 1.5 million"

    I started to think why.....then realized it.

    Floyd is dominating to the point of lulling the casual fan(s) to sleep....the casual fan(s) wants to see action, punches thrown, and excitement.....unfortunately the casual fan(s) seem to think that Floyd's skillset is not REAL BOXING....the casual fan(s) want to see FIGHTING, and the casual fan(s) are the one's who are responsible for PPV buys topping anything over 1 million.

    If Floyd keeps on fighting other names (not named Manny Pacquiao), his PPV buys will crash, not because he sucks, but because he is THAT DAM GOOD. No one will want to buy a one sided, "boring" sparring match.....people want to see a one sided beatdown where the fighter goes in for the kill.

    I expect to read some harsh criticism of my opinion....but I also welcome it as this has nothing to do with one's lack of boxing ability, more so, the abundance of one's ability to the point that it MIGHT backfire.....

      I have the same thoughts as you, but his PPVs keep getting better, if not better, at the very least they stay high.

        I don't care about PPV numbers. Though I can't understand why Mayweather didn't attempt to KO him. He was there to be hit and he clearly stopped respecting Shane's power when he began stalking him. I don't understand why he won't put his punches together.

          floyd's lack of power does negatively affect his ppv status.

          floyd can easily overcome his lack of power by putting together 4-5 punch combos once he's figured out his opponent. I see no reason for floyd to continue with potshots and 2 punch combos once he's thoroughly discouraged his opponents. If you totally outclass your opponent, you should be able to stop them. If floyd puts on gatti like beatings all the time, he wouldn't get so much flak.

            Obviously, he had respect for his power all throughout the fight. Trust me, if Phony Boy felt there was zero left in Shane, he would've Gatti'ed his @ss.

            The thing to keep in mind, is that, Shane defended the left hook well, which is Phony's $$$ shot. That right hand was just a tapper, man. Did you see Shane's face, the guy was all smiles during the post-fight press conference, lol

            You, know, more than anything, Shane was demoralized in that fight, but he wasn't beaten down.

                Floyd doesnt lack power. He hits hard and can knockout any ww. He just doesnt have the killer instinct. Doesnt take risks. He's very popular already, but if he would just finish off his opponents like he's physically able to do, he would be twice as popular.

                  That is a negative......better how????

                  DLH = 2.4 mili....Hatton = 920K.....JMM = 1.05mili.....Mosley = ??? (anything under 1.5mili realistically is great....but in Floyd's world 1.5 = huge failure)

                  Mosley was the best dance partner he could've had, cept for Manny, and the way Golden Boy was hyping this up.....

                  Time will tell....
