Plus, if I have my way, I want that one thoroughly researched. One that is tailor-made for professional boxers. Pros and cons. Effect on training and stuff. 2-4months of working on a proper procedure. OST is good but if it does tests even on night time, I don't think that is good for the fighter.
If Floyd wanted to clean up the sport surely he would insist on the fighters on Sat's undercard taking random tests? No, what he's saying is, 'I want the fighters I fight to be subjected to random style tests'. It's not a morality tale, a moral crusade. That's BS. Floyd's one of the most morally condemnable figures in all of sport.
...more important than boxing presenting PAC-PBF right now?
the public is demanding this fight and both sides have their reasons on why or why not there should be additional testing
so, would guys (fight fans) rather have a message be sent that boxing needs to be cleaned up and this fight get ditched (assuming they dont find a compromise) ?
OR
do you guys believe that the best thing boxing can do for itself right now is make this fight happen?
I would love to see this fight be made, with or without OST. But I'm not stepping in the ring risking my life so if Mayweather feels it's necessary then so be it.
IMHO regardless of the motivation, OST is a step in the right direction for a sport that an unfair advantage is a matter of life and death.
I would say it is more preventing the fight from happening more than anything. If this fight falls through again it will really hurt my interest in boxing.
theres nothing wrong with the OST demands, it has a good intention for the sport
however,
OST is not yet required by NSAC so if fighters dont wanna go thru it, we cant blame them. by the time that ost is mandated by nsac then fighters refuse to do it, thats a different story
The NSAC should improve testing but won't. It is not in their better interest to catch fighters in the weeks leading up to a fight before the money has been spent in the Vegas hotels. Post-fight testing, who cares, the tourist money has already been spent. Also, Arum will bring Pac to Texas if NSAC does what they really should do. If the US forms a national commission with unified rules, there will just be big fights overseas.
If Nevada changes their testing, don't be surprised if the venue becomes the big stumbling block.
Honestly, we should be able to have both. Maybe now that Mayweather has a stronger hand in the negotiations Pac'll have to fold and agree to the request.
How? last time I heard the ppv only made 1.2 when people are expecting 3-4m?
