i think clottey-mosley is a toss up fight at this point. it's not like clottey's offense is anything special.
I agree, it is a toss up.

People just never realized mosley thinks too much though. His "jittery" style, is really him fainting. And his pawing jab, is just so you don't see the right hand coming, or try to block the jab, and get hit with something.

Everything he does, the flailing of his hands, jittering, pawing jab, it's all to try and make an opening so he can actually throw.

Floyd never once fell for his antics and when shane took the risk and just threw, he missed, then clinched. It slowed his workrate down dramatically, as it usually does in situations like this.

Whenever i watch mosley fight, I always get the feeling that he looks "confused". It's usually because you can actually 'see' him thinking. He thinks too much.

Its why i favor clottey against him. His antics wont work against the stubborn guard and I highly doubt clottey would stay in his shell. People seriously forget how clottey fights after the pacman fight. Just to paint a more vivid picture. Winky was averaging 800+ a fight in his last 5 prior to Williams, had even thrown 1100 against Quartey. he fights Paul williams and throws 450. Activity is what kept clottey in his shell. he opened up against the hard hitting cotto.

It's very possible though, Clottey woudl fall for mosleys antics, the twitching, fainting, pawing jab, and never open up because he doesn't know when the hard punch will actually come.

Mosley easily. Josh Clottey isn't at all what he was cracked up to be. Mosley will just tee off all night on that punching bag and win a decision like Pac.

Clottey would look great, but probably lose it in the end like he always does. I want to pick Clottey, based on what I've seen of him and Shane lately, but Clottey has blown enough big fights for me to do that.

Because he ARGUABLy lost to cotto (he had to chase him down) and LOST TO THE p4p best fighter?

Come on man, lets get real here.

look at the caliber of people he's lost to, and then come back to me. Mosley just fought someone Pacmans caliber and looked just as bad.

See where i'm going with this?

Mosley also fought cotto, as did clottey, and didn't do near as good (although people make a case for him winning as well).

let's stop with this clottey drops the ball in big fights stuff when realistically, hsi 2 big fights were against elite comp where IMO he was Robbed thanks to being in teh Garden, and 2, ITS PACMAN!!..

mosley don't have the volume punching to keep clottey in his shell. its a close fight, but clottey will win. clottey has a good jab.

Translation: Any way I can discredit Mayweather's win over Mosley I will. Even if I have to pick a fighter on a lower level than Mosley to beat him.

Good post. Refreshing read. The only thing I'd like to add is that if Clottey does open up like he kinda did with Cotto, Mosley will more than likely catch him with something and I think Clottey would be forced back into his ninja turtle (shell d).

                  Good post though.

I don't think too many people would have made that prediction just last week.

He also fell short against Margarito, and got DQed against Baldomir. This isn't just a Pacquiao fight thing.
