Lol really? For his style of fighting he is past his prime, in his youth his output was higher, in a division where speed is everything and the energy required to sustain that speed does not bode well for some who is 38. It can't be compared to Hopkins who carries more weight in a division where less punches are thrown, you can slow down a fight to that type of pace. Against Mayweather pace is everything. I think a younger Shane Mosley not only stuns Mayweather, but would have the energy to sustain it through 12 rounds, he looked like a dead man walking for the last half of that fight. Having said that Mayweather is simply great enough said.

i never expected to see mosley gassed and gasping for breath in round 7

when i saw that i knew he was done.

he almost got him out in round 2, may was really hurt, twice, but rebounded well and won the fight with ease.

If shane just started trading like hes known for the ref may have stopped it or shanes corner or floyd would have been overwhelmed and got caught.

I didnt see shane throw left hooks to the body... to the head.. He utilized very little of his arsenal his head was somewhere else .

Not to discredit floyd at all .he fought his ass off.

Nah, I got it 50/50 cuz of pac's speed, footwork and chin. What's the use of defense if you cant see the punches coming since pac throws fast combinations, not 1 punch at a time. Both of them havent faced a fighter like each other. A lot say pac got schooled by Marquez, guess what, he improved dramatically with his right hand and combination punches and also footwork and boxing ability. Pac is also a southpaw which is 1 of the antidote to the shoulder roll. Also, heres the thing, if pac goes crazy like he always does, floyd will counter him with a blinding punch. Who will land first? And also, alot say floyd is big, guess what also, floyd and pacquiao are basically as heavy as each other. Floyd is just taller and longer.

No you're making excuses, I like some part of your posts but you sound a bit bitter, Mosley is 38 and Mayweather is 33 both of them are not in their youths anymore, If Mayweather didnt fight Mosley he would be hounded! Mosley got his wish lost so thats it, I felt the fight should have been stopped in the 9-10 round because i have never seen Mosley look like that before but then credit also have to go to the opponent who made Mosley look like that.

In boxing we the fans are too quick to take credit away from the people who get in the ring to entertain us, Lets just enjoy the fights and move on.

I am bitter because this fight was another farce from Floyd Mayweather, just like his fight with Marquez. I knew from the time it was signed that it would be a non-competitive affair for reasons having nothing to do with skill.

3 or 4 years ago Shane might have given Floyd a good fight, but it was obvious that he was done after Cotto, and his fight with Mayorga made it even clearer.

People were fooled by his fight with Margarito, but slow fighters make old fighters look 10 years younger. Pavlik did it for Hopkins, and Trinidad and Lacy did it for Jones, and Margarito did it for Pavlik.

Unfortunately, brain damage does not just effect your speech, it effects your reflexes. Shane Mosley DOES have brain damage. His speech patterns have changed, he is slurring, and there should have been no question in the minds of any reasonable person that Mosley should not have been in the ring with Floyd.

That is not an excuse for anyone, that is the truth, and it is a voice of disapproval that travesties like this are allowed to happen at the expense of a fighters health.

Shane was in shape but is too shopworn to hang with A++ guys like floyd at this stage.

That "...taller and longer" statement just might be Pacquiao's undoing. Floyd is definitely quicker defensively, might I add.

No problem was solved. People say Floyd "made and adjustment". No. He didn't. Round 2 was an aberration. Floyd fought the same way the whole fight, he just got caught out of position in round 2 and he paid for it. It happened against Marquez a few time too, but Marquez didn't have the kind of pop to shake Floyd up the way Mosley could.

Floyd needs no props for weathering the storm. That is his job.

This is fight #2 where his opponent had nothing to offer, and Floyd refused to go in for the kill. Granted, he did push the pace more in this fight, but thats because if didn't there wouldn't have been any punches thrown at all.

Floyds technique is remarkable. We know this. All we learned in this fight is that Shane's reflexes are gone.

OK so you did give him semi props at least that is better than nothing. The bottom line is people thought Mayweather was a runner, scary, and didn't fight big name fighters. He answered all the critics and the only thing people can do is now cross their fingers and "hope" that he will lose one day, because he has answered everybody's criticism at this point. I know its hard to admit the guy is the best ever, but let's all swallow our pride and give him his credit due. He is one boxer other than Hopkins that is a defensive technician. People will one day realize defense wins in sports. We can now say Mosley is done, but Floyd made us believe that. We really thought Mosley had a shot, but the truth was he was shot. The only thing left for Floyd is Pacman, after that I would just retire like Calzaghe and tell people to "bite me" and go look at the tapes. I am not a super huge Mayweather fan, but the guy is Jordan of boxing and deserve all the accolades. Some people are good and then you have that slight few that are special. In contrary, I will say this, Pacman will hit him in the mouth more times than none and of course he has a chance to win, because he has skills too, but Pacman better cover up, because it now seems like Floyd actually have a little power too. People don't seem to know this until they get in the ring with him. I guess his defense sort of hides his power a little bit. Let's hope they fight and get it on. Floyd has save boxing.
