of course not. have you seen sugar ray robinson fight? i haven't seen a whole lot, about 10 or 12 fights, but from what i've seen he would've wiped the floor with floyd at welterweight. the guy was a perfect boxer-puncher, fast as lightning with chilling power. he would've simply overwhelmed floyd.
If Floyd wins tonight, does he go > Sugar Ray Robinson

hell no...............floyd is just in this race because of his .....pre WW....achievement..................back in the days when he was a beast.......................so floyd potshotting a 38 year old is greater for you..............than a former flyweight destroying arguably the #1 or 2 in the WW........in cotto....and winning against clottey.............that doesnt cut it for me....i anint looking for a KO.....i want some combinations......and solid offence....we all know floyd has a great defense....show us a new dimension of his game then.........
But with that said, the only GREAT win that Pac has is the destruction of Cotto.
Pac beat Hatton when Floyd already destroyed him, Pac beat a drained DLH when Floyd already owned a much primer version at his natural weight.
Pac beat Clottey but honestly that's not saying much because Clottey is overrated and is just a bum with a good defense (that still is a great win though don't get me wrong only because Clottey is such a huge guy for Pac).
However, Floyd utterly dominated and toyed with JMM the guy that Pac arguably lost to twice.
If Floyd beats Shane in impressive fashion to me this is a better win than Pac over Cotto or at least as great, why? Because Pac was fighting Cotto on the heels of Cotto's destruction already at the hands of Margarito so Cotto can be said to already be damaged goods plus he made him fight at a crappy catchweight that ****ed with Cotto. Floyd on the other hand is fighting a guy with a streak of destruction, a guy who's one of the greatest of this era (much greater than Cotto will ever be) and who is coming off 2 impressive KTFO victories. So yes if Floyd beats Shane convincingly (like destroys him, KO, etc) then you better believe he's greater than Pac.Comment

What I mean is, SRR had the same speed, reflexes, smarts, heart, chin, that Floyd has. Yet Floyd doesn't have even close to the power that SRR had. SRR had brutal killer instinct type power where he tried to destroy you with every punch, Floyd never has and never will have that.
The only thing that can be argued is that Floyd has a better defense perhaps though it's hard to say because their defenses were vastly different.Comment

floyd's logic are far more worst than the ******* since he always proclaimed himself as greater than ali, robinson, armstrong and pacquiao combined. See your beloved idol logic is the worst of the worst.Comment

Yup the problem is this SRR could do everything Floyd can do, but Floyd can not do some things SRR can do.

first of all Pac has done nothing but beat Floyd's left overs. Now keep in mind I say this from a neutral stance because I like both Pac and Floyd though am not a huge fan of either (would be nice to see Shane KO Floyd tonight but I know it won't happen).

im against the catchweight.....but floyd ***ed his legacy the same way....even worse....in JMM..................the left over argument is a propaganda.....what seperate PAC is the manner/performance in the big stage.....recently...........if floyd wants to catch up.......a dominating win tonight is the 1st STEP............not the end all and be all of it.................next is PAC ...........................then a 154 contender...................did you know floyd was asking to fight PAC at 154.....................?????......lol............ ...Comment

You are not a fighter and wouldnt understand that.
Both Tommy Hearns and Sugar Ray Leonard think Floyd is doing the right thing in believing that, for his own good.Comment

Floyd better show the damn world what he's made of, he doesn't have many fights left and Mosley is ripe for the pickens...he's not the boxer that Floyd is and was getting outboxed by Mayorga. Floyd NEEDS to put this old man away and do what everyone expects him to do, which is destroy Mosley.
One thing in favor of Pac is that while his wins might not be all that "great" against some of the fighters, he at least did what he's EXPECTED to do. Everyone knows now that DLH was drained and shot but at least Pac did what you're supposed to do to a shot fighter you **** THEM UP. Everyone knows Hatton had lost punch resistance and was there to be taken out, and Pac did what you're supposed to do to a shot fighter, he KTFO him in 2 ****in rounds. Mosley is there for the taking and if Mayweather doesn't do what he's expected to do here then he's a ****in ***** coward.Comment
