I love to watch both of these fighters. Both are exciting and give boxing pundits exactly what they require.

It's a tough call, but I feel that Cotto will ultimitely, be too strong for Hatton.

He will lure Hatton in while 'retreating' to the ropes and counter in combos up & down. Examine both fighter's faces. Hatton has been tagged quite a lot and will be susceptible to Cotto's pinpoint, power punching. Cotto is one of a few boxers who are able to punch powerfully going back or forward.

That said....there has to be a loser in this fight and I for one, won't derive much pleasure in seeing either one lose. It should have the makings of a great fight though!

This is one fight that I won't be betting on....just sit back and watch!

no one in the weight division is stronger than hatton! cotto would get bullied, never seen him on the back foot apart from vs corley and he clearly didnt like that!

Cotto would ko Hatton i have no doubt in my mind. Cotto would not be pushed around and he does his best work in side and Hatton is there to be hit. I have no doubt in my mind that Cotto would catch Hatton with those loping punches and put him on his ass. Cotto is also starting to show better movement in every fight.

If Cotto fights like he did against Abdulaev he has little chance of getting past 8. Abdulaev had him covering up on the ropes without even throwing punches and he didn't fire back when he was under the limited pressure that Abdulaev applied. Hatton would be his biggest nightmare based on that performance and would have a field day on the inside judging by how open Cotto was to hooks and uppercuts. Hatton looks to have a decent advantage in handspeed too, I was amazed how slow most of Cotto's punches were although he did put them together nicely and I was impressed with his jab.

if/when they do fight i can only see one winner and thats cotto. he will be too big and strong for hatton, i ilke hatton a lot and think he is a very good boxer but i think cotto would win a UD points vicory. hatton would have a sick workrate but he would not be able to push cotto around the way he did tzsyu, cotto comes in weighin 154lbs or above on fight night so there is no way he will get pushed around by hatton.

I like cotto alot and truly believe its basically a pick em but i was not impressed with his last performance very much at all and i would lean towards hatton on a late stoppage or points win. I think his strength late in the fight and his pace would be too much for cotto

It wasnt long ago Cotto was fighting lightweight, i've even seen him carrring a little extra weight at light welter too, Hattons a very big and strong light welter, there's no way Cotto has a size or strength advantage. Hatton even out muscled super human strength Tszyu.

I was unsure about this fight until recently but i'm convinced Hatton would win, based on the last few fights Cotto would get busted up.

You know one thing about Cotto. If he ever were to fight Hatton. The Abdullaev fight gave him experience that would be critical against a fighter like Hatton.

I'm not sure about that. If Abdulaev had thrown more punches instead of just walking around with his hands up it would have given Cotto a taster of what Hatton would be like, but they're in different leagues really in terms of speed, tenacity and skill.
