I go to a ****load of club shows, I'm just telling you what I see. I don't see why people get offended, I wasn't around in the 60's or the big 80's fights but the boxing business and demographics have changed a lot since those days.

It's obvious Flips love watching Pacquiao now and come out in droves and buy the PPV's but what will happen when Pacquaio retires will they go with him? I hope they don't but I can't say that until it happens.

you're right then dude...you are the authority on what pinoys watch

isn't it the same way in america or most countries?

ask an average american to name boxers and you'll probably get an oscar delahoya or mayweather if not tyson and ali.

there's 300 million americans yet most boxing ppv's only sell 300-400k? if that much.

same thing with filipinos. the casual fans only know pacquiao and the other big names.

My Family was BIG on Ali, Leonard Hearns and Duran. Boxing is free in the Philippines and it's a big event everytime Tyson, Ali, Leonard fights. The Philippines never ran out of at least 1 champion per year...even if it's just the measly flyweights and minimum weights. Everytime a pinoy becomes a champion at anything above bantamweight it will be a big deal!! That's why Navarrette (Light), Espinosa (Feather) and Pacquiao are popular names in the Philippines.

because if you're just judging from watching american boxing events , filipinos only make up 1-2 percent of the u.s. population.

would you notice 1-2 percent of a crowd at a boxing match?
You are correct on this, I can only talk about Boxing in the states. I'm sure there have been plenty of boxing fans in the past but nothing like the present time where every Flip and his mother know's about Pac and Mayweather.

I hope most of them stay with the sport too, it has been a nice injection of life having so many new fans.

I thought pinoys were boxing fans for a long time, but their love of boxing increased a lot when Manny came along.

No need to get butt hurt, I wasn't taking a shot at Pinoys. I really hope the fans stay, I've talked to a lot of them at fights and they are very cool to drink beers with.

                    that's to be expected though.

it's like in the 70's , every american knows ali and frazier.

i doubt many non-hardcore boxing fan americans know who wladimir klitschko and david haye is.

In The 1900's there's Americans, Blacks, Irish, Italians, Brits and Filipinos in boxing.

                      Fact.
