This is absurd. In addition to all the other reasons listed, what if he landed a couple more blows and Hasegawa had to be taken out on a stretcher? What would people be saying about the ref then? My guess is that he was irresponsible for trying to help out the hometown fighter and that he should be suspended or banned from the sport.
Hasagawa got Meldrick Taylor'd

You're obviously upset. Take 5 and when you clear your head we can discuss like adults.
I'll start. He took 3-4 big unanswered shots with both hands down, and hanging onto the ropes. He would have went down if not for the ropes. With a one minute break, I don't know that he would have recovered enough. I think he gets KO'd either way. He would have been better of letting go of the ropes, and falling.
The way you handle that is you let the bell ring, let him go back to his corner and come out for round 5.
If he takes unanswered bombs in round 5 you stop it.
The champion deserves that kind of courtesy and respect.Comment

Hozumi got jobbed in his own hometown.
You gotta hand it to Cole, that guy is like superman when it comes to screwing fighters over.
He doesn't even need it to be in Texas.
He'll do it anywhere.Comment

Yeah I understand that courtesy to a champion regardless if it's his home town last 10 seconds and in a long war, not the beginning where he could have possibly came back and turne it around since hasegawa was doing so well. The question is "what if"? What if something terrible could* (not saying would have) happened to him? I understand he is a champion and others have been beat worse by far and came back to win. The thing is "what if"? You never know. I guess it was on the ref to let the fighter prove himself especially a champion or play it safe. I believe e chose to play it safe. Honestly it could have gone either way and understand were you're coming from but from my personal experience I can relate to the stoppage as well. I guess I'm torn bewtween both obvious issues but I rather watch an exciting rematch. I'm sure it would be a great fight.Comment

Nothing in this video warrants a 1 second stoppage. That **** is stuff I see in MMA not boxing.Comment

Stop hating man, as much I despise Cole Hosumi was out bro, he had one hand on the ropes trying to not get floored, like others said even if he wouldn't of stopped it then he would of been decked the next round.Comment
