him and his corner were protesting it afterwards. The commentators even thought it was a premature stoppage. I love being bilingual. Why so defensive? Your boy basically pulled a tarver. hasegawa got him in a rematch. Montiel aint nothin special.

I think ref did a good stoppage, protecting the fighter no matter what time it was, i think in Japan there is not 10 second warning noise like in other parts, if he saw a defenseles hands and head down and rope holding fighter taking that massive and dangerous shots, he didn't have time to look at the time..
Anyway Hozumi was badly hurt and surely he would be nocked out next rd anyway.. I would like to see a rematch.. My respects to Hasegawa..

just looked at it again. i think hasegawa recovered but one hand has was behind the rope and the other hand didn't cover up much. i think he could have made it but he didn't do a good job showing it. i probably would have stopped it too though if i was the ref. hasegawas head snapped back and he was completely defenseless. he looked like he was out.

Hell no,it was a good stoppage.

Hasegawa was defenseless against the ropes with his head flying around,he was a rag doll and his hands weren't in position to defend himself.

Wait but since Hasegawa had his arm around the ropes after being shaken, meaning the rope was keeping him up, isn't that a knockdown?

Wasn't Cole supposed to direct Montiel to the neutral corner and start counting for Hasegawa?

              Really weird incident...
