There was only a second left in the round and because hasegawa's young and in top condition, he might have been able to recover on the stool... he was still standing when the round ended.
Hasegawa vs Montiel a bad stoppage?

I think it was an early stoppage. Not taking anything away from Montiel, Hasegawa was the champ in the fight, and with 1 sec left in the round, i think it shouldn't have been stopped at that point. I'm not sure if he would've recovered, but he should have been at least allowed to come out for the 5th round. Then again, laurence cole was the ref. And he's made quite a few bad calls in the past.Comment

i think it shouldve gone on, cole was slipping again if you ask me, he should've known how much time was left in the ring, the 10 second warning was loud enough to hear, it's not like it was a loud ass audience like a hatton fight or a trinidad fight.
1 second left is kind of sketchy, had there been 10 seconds left, then yes, professional stoppage, but 1 second makes me think cole isnt paying attention in the ring.
it's a championship fight and had it been montiel who was stopped with one second left i'd feel the same way, probably more mad because i was rooting for montiel in this fight.
against, cole = controversy......................Comment
