who cares how old they were----they were legit fighters-----they were champions or former champions----they were p4p lists---they didn't fight for vacant titles like cotto did---and manny fought cotto at 145, not 147----can you say cotto was 100% for that fight----bottom line is, yes, they were those ages when floyd fought them, so what? maybe if the 29 year old pacman didn't duck floyd, he would've fought him and dusted him off too----and you act like floyd didn't want to fight shane when he was young and undefeated, or younger coming off two wins over vargas---you act like floyd didn't chase de la hoya his whole career---wanted him in 2005----wanted hatton in 2005---really didn't want to fight baldomir---wanted shane or oscar back in 06, but chose baldomir, seeing how he was the champion of the ww division, and dominated him---and carlos had not loss in 8 years before he fought floyd---what are you hating for punk?Comment

You guys kill me when ya'll say he fought Ricky at the wrong weight, here's why.
1) When they BOTH were at 140, Hatton was reportedly, "not ready"
2) Floyd had just fought Oscar at 154, so he wasn't going to go ALL the way back down to 140 to fight a guy that "wasn't ready for him" at that weight. Like Oscar made Floyd come to 154...like Hatton made Manny come to 140...Floyd made Hatton come to 147..what's the fuss?
3) Ricky and his trainer, WANTED to fight Mayweather at 147.Comment

1) Hatton was reported not ready to fight Mayweather at 140.
2) Graham went on record saying that they would fight Floyd at 147 because he was not that big. He also noted that, the reason they struggled with Collazo at 147 was not the weight but they didn't have time to prepare correctly for him.
And Floyd went right back down to 147 after he fought Oscar.Comment

Huh? How does it fail?

Or perhaps you have another explanation for this?Comment

Hatton went back down to 140 because he had his belt or status at 140 intact, He never wanted to fight Mayweather at 140 because if he had lost he would have lost everything so even when he lost at 147 he could still say am the man at 140.
Sergio martinez also did the samething recently when he took on Pavlik at 160, If He had lost he would have said oh well am still a champ at 154, Fact is 147 was good for Hatton especially the fact that he gets too fat in between fights and he drains himself to make 140.Comment

No, no, no Batt. I'm not arguing that 47 was his best weight. Not arguing that at all my friend. What I am arguing is that when Floyd wanted to make that fight when they were BOTH at 140, Hatton wasn't "ready". With that being the case, Floyd had him come up to 147 to make the fight (since he had just fought Oscar at 154). Like Oscar had Floyd come to 154, like Hatton had Manny come to 140, Floyd had him come to 147. That is all I'm saying.Comment
