Comments Thread For: Amir Khan, Kevin Mitchell Trade Words over Potential Bout

WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan spoke with BBC Sport and said he was interested in an all-British clash with undefeated Kevin Mitchell. Both of them are headlining different events on May 15. Mitchell is fighting Michael Katsidis in the UK. Khan is making his American debut against Paulie Malignaggi in New York. Mitchell is promoted by Frank Warren, who Khan recently left for Golden Boy Promotions. [Click Here To Read More]

Khan targetting someone who is naturally 2 divisions smaller than him? Say it ain't so.

I assume the Khan fans will be here any minute to say that Mitchell is a traitor to the entire nation for pointing out that Khan has a bad chin.

Katsidis is a tough guy and I think Mitchell is going to have a very hard time with him. Nice to know that at least one British boxer will be facing the toughest available opponent on May 15th though.

the thing is that khan can't take a punch, i'm a big fan of khan but i'm also realistic. Khan unfortunately has fought bums. People who were 1 or 2 weight classes below him and still has trouble and has even been knocked down by them. I'm sure the khan fans will read this and come out with haterz and your are jealous and so on but its true!

I think the issue with his chin is over emphasised more than it should be. He got knocked out by Prescott, so did 90% of Prescotts opponents. Prescott is hard hitting and only guys with great chins would survive his flush punches. If Mitchell fought flat footed against him he would've got knocked out too.
Khan is young boxer who is coming out, Roach said his camp had him doing some amaturish training, taking weight off his legs to build up upper body strength.

That makes a change that Amir Khan is talking about a smaller man. Face your mandatory challenger and big names before you start running your mouth like you're the next big thing. I can't wait to see this clown do the spaghetti legs again and it's only a matter of time. People need to remember that it is not just Prescott that has sent him over. If David Haye had ducked his mandatory and taken a different fight this board would be up in arms.

Have alway wanted to see this fight and i think Mitchell KO's Khan in the mid-round, The only problem is if the fight ever happens then it needs to happen within the next 2 fights for Mitchell to win it, Because Mitchell's ability to take punches is going to diminish pretty soon with the way he fights.

Khan's in the most talented division in boxing, there's no need to go back to lightweight.

Exactly, and Mitchell is about to be exposed by Katsidis anyway.
