From this link ESNEWS(which I think is Ellie Seckbach) says in one of the first comments that Benavidez was able to land some solid shots on him.

In the video, Ellie saw them spar and said he did better then most any fighter he has fought lately.

Can't believe this kid is only 17. When I met him in Dallas, it was all love. Dude was hella humble and took the time to take pics and chat with all of us. Gonna be a fan for years to come.

Exactly, man ! Who cares if Benavidez were to get his @ss handed to him by some veteran prizefighters in a sparring session. The fact that those guys allow him to share the ring with them, it's just a f**kin' honor and it lets you know how much they respect his game, man.

As talented and well ahead of the game Benavidez appears to be, it has also been up against guys much shorter fighters than him. Whenever a fighter who has a significant reach advantage on the opposition and has some understanding on how to box, that fighter will always give anyone problems irregardless of experience level.

wcg must be amazing. all those really good fighters using each other to get better. i know everybody thinks that roach is spreading himself too thin, but fighters dont train at the wcg just to work with him, they also wanna be a part of that environment.
imagine being 17 y/o soaking up all that knowledge and getting to spar with all that talent. benavidez already has immense talent and instincts most vets dont have.
sky's the limit for young jose.
