What are you talking about willis? Romes main reason why Ali was better than Floyd was simply opposition. So, his argument is that Floyd isn't better because the athletes now are not as good as back in the day and I think that is a bull **** reason. You can't knock the guy because the talent around him isn't as good, and what makes everyone an expert to think Floyd couldn't hang with the welters in the 80s. It's just an assumption and I just find it weak if that's the best he can come up with. Ali is greater,but the argument of opposition isn't a great one imo.

I don't get what's so great about athletes of the past either. People only remember the good stuff and refuse to say a present athlete is greater than a past one. I'm not saying Mayweather is better than SSR (I def don't think so), but what's so great about those guys is a real question? That's why I'm so happy with have sports like track, where U. Bolt is obviously faster than anyone in history.

Here's the reasoning as i understand it.

1. There's only 1 recognized champion at each division. so by todays standards.

A fighter should beat Mosley, Berto and Manny Pacquiao to be considered Welterweight Champion. or A figher needs to beat Devon, Amir Khan and Timothy Bradley to be considered the 140 champion


2. A champion fights almost every contender back in the day. so that means he has proven himself unlike today Floyd can easily avoid guy's like Paul Williams because of the treat he poses.


3. They have super human strengths




Yeah Fighters fron the fast are tough but a bit over rated.
