Martinez is a small middleweight, he is probably really a light-middleweight! In my opinion the man who holds the belt aka Martinez is a natural light-middleweight! That is why its impressive what he has done so far. If he was able to go up to 168 and beat any of the top fighters up there, he'd be easily on my ATG list. Its easier to say then to be done, since he would be at a serious size disadvantage.
Lucian Bute needs a July opponent...who should he go after?

Perfect time for Hopkins to step in when he is being overlooked, and expose this protected, Canadian local product.Last edited by cupocity303; 04-28-2010, 07:16 PM.Comment

I'm sure Glen Johnson would be glad to fight Bute if his fight with Cloud doesn't get made. So I don't want to hear any excuses of how this guy doesn't have anybody to fight. If 175 is too big for him then why is he interested in fighting Hopkins?Comment

I forgot all about Hopkins...he did call Bute out didn't he...
Well the fight will be in Romania, don't know how Hopkins feels about that
Martinez? Really?
Glen Johnson...I really can't see him starving himself down below 175 and/or Bute moving to 175 to face HIM of all people
A fight at 175 might be on deck...against a safe opponent...hell, he might as well take a safe fight at 168Comment

Hopkins should be able to make 168
and 170 wouldn't be out the picture either for a catchweight
In all honesty, I'd rather Johnson fight Cloud...I just think it's a better fight

What's the name of the guy who knocked Bute TFO in the AM's?
In any case Bute has to look long for opponents as the only threats are locked up in the S6.Comment

Thanks Alec.
That's the first time I've seen it. Bute looks huge compared to Golovkin. What a shot he takes. He's still groggy after the official verdict was given.
I can see that Golovkin is not particularly far at 18-0 (15KO) and he is campaigning at 160. This might be a big match in a year or two.Comment
