No it really was. There were times where Benn would get 3 punches to the back of the head off in a row without a warning. It as ridiculous how the ref handled that fight. He kept breaking up the action in the first when Benn was getting olbiterated after the first knockdown. He shouldve stopped the fight after the abuse he took.Comment

When I counted them there were only about 11 or 12, with only 3 of those thrown with any real menace. The best 2 came from G-Man when Benn was bent down.Originally posted by MartyJannetty
The ref did arse about a bit but some of that was to do with McLellan not stepping back when he called break, and I've never known a Frenchman deliberately do the English any favours.

I remember the excessive blows to the back of the head by Benn as well...though i haven't seen the fight in a while. I have it on tape at home somewhere.
