I don't wanna discuss his love for fighting dogs; it turns my stomache personally.

I still think it's so sad the lights were turned off on his career as a result of his injuries. I just saw a fighter who was one of the best from my area; he came in and applied for a position here as a detention officer. He talked real slow and set off one of our alarms by entering an alarmed door(plainly marked).

If only the damage to the fighter's brains could be somehow taken out of this sport ... this guy was nice as hell but each thought was slow as molasses except when he was talking about his boxing memories.

His name is Kertis Mingo btw, he left his license behind.

Gerald wasn't exactly the best person in the world but he got really ****ed up in the Benn fight..some people think he deserved it for his dog fighting and all the other ****ty things he reportedly did...I don't know how I feel..he was evidently a pretty ****ty person but he is in terrible shape now...guess he can't kill animals anymore though...at any rate the Benn-McClellen fight tops my list as one of the best fights I have ever seen, even though the outcome was terrible...but Benn displayed a rare courage throughout the fight (especially with all the quits recently)....Benn is one of my favorite fighters and if you have the time pick up his book (I think its called Dark Destroyer or something)...Benn's fight against Eubank (the first one) was amazing as well...its a shame that many US fans don't know all that much about the British middles of that time..

I got into a discussion similar to this one on another forum talkin about this and it got kinda nasty due to people adopting one perspective and stubbornly refusing to consider other people's perspectives.

Basically, I abhor mistreatment of animals or any sentient living beign but my thing is the hypocrisy of regalling one guy while demonizing another for exhibitig characteristics such as in this case, viciousness, cruelty, etc. Yet, if a guy is just as aggressive, single minded and steadfast, even cruel to an extent, in his intent to finish another human being though he's obviously helpless; head bobbing as he's battered senseless we celebrate him.

If no one's seriously injured, that is, though not from lack of trying.

Listen this is still one of the best fights ever. McCellan was a nasty peice of work, but u know what he was even more moody than mike tyson, if he had won he would have been a superstart that would have done to Roy Jones what Tarver and Johnson, they guy was a first class punching machine.

I don't feel sorry for him because he lived the life, he wanted to put serious hurt on bed, I spoke to him at the press conference before the fight and his attiude was "He cannot outbox, he can't out fight, what is he gonna do when I land my right and walk back to the corner as it will be over". If he ends up in hospital all the better

You had Herol 'Bomber' Graham, Nigel Benn, Michael Watson and Chris Eubank - great black British Middleweight's that would put Collins and Calzaghe to shame if they fought them in their primes in the late 80's/early 90's.

and it's also a shame that Hagler/Hearns avoided Herol like the plague, and that Jones Jr avoided Benn/Eubank.
