You cannot look at it from that point of view. As time goes on, PPV reach more homes and cost more. I remember buying fights when they were 19.99 and that was a lot.

Nowadays they cost $50 a pop so of course the final numbers will be greater. The way you have to look at it is by ERA. Consider the money Oscar was making in the 90's as opposed to the money Floyd is making today or in the last 5-7years as him as the headliner.

He's no where close to DLH or Leonard, Tyson or Holyfield....not when you compare era's.

Floyd vs Pac will be huge, Floyd vs Mosley will do well also but that's because Floyd is also fighting household names in boxing.

Oscar was selling 1 million PPV's fighting guys that weren't big names and he did that for over 10 years man, give me a break.
Oscar could sell 1 million PPV's fighting an alley cat.

These Floyd fans are delusional. Take away HBO big push and Mayweathers back in Michigan fighting in front of 2000 people.

Oscar has had two 24/7's so far...with names such as Pacquiao (1.25 million) and Mayweather (2.4 million) so yes he needed 24/7's to sell his fights.

Oscar vs Trinidad did 1.4 million buys, and that was when Oscar was Undefeated and Trinidad was undefeated... When both fighters were in their primes... When both were considered the top PPV attraction/biggest names in the sport just like how Mayweather and Pacquiao are currently considered the biggest names in the sport.

Fact is the only fights where Oscar did over 1 million were Trinidad, Pacquiao and Mayweather and two out of three of them fights had 24/7's.

Fact is Floyd did 1 million or more against Oscar, Marquez and will cross it against Shane Mosley (Oscar couldn't in both his fights).

People just cant get over the fact Mayweather is a big draw...it bites them (Haters) in the ass, I sense real bitterness in this thread...

First off. How dare you impugn the dead.

Save that **** for someone else.

Secondly, get YOUR **** together. Do you know how to read?

How many ppv's you think Oscar would've sold w/ Trinadad/Whitaker/Vargas/Quartey/Mayorga or anyone else for that matter with a 4 WEEK PROPAGANDA CAMPAIGN LEADING UP TO THE FIGHT???

              Think about it.

              Where was Mayweather before 24/7?

              Selling 350k against Zab Judah.

              Thats where.

Stop overrating his drawing power. He is fully dependent on propaganda to sell his fights.

Without it, he's an average draw at best. Nobody is amused by him in the ring.
