    Well, JabsRstiff..

..I hope you're happy now. You've hated Tyson since he first decided to lace them up and now he's finished..

..I just have to say that I hope you're happy. You won't hear any other stuff about Tyson cleaning out the division from me anymore.

Maybe now that he's gone you can give him the props that he deserves.

....What exactly does he deserve "props" for? Snatchin some ass?? Beating up old women? Smakin his wife around? Biting opponents? Trying to break a fellow boxers arm twice? Being an inarticulate animal? If you were more specific perhaps jabs could answer.

For single handedly reviving boxing, for going down as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, and probably the second or third greatest of recent time [Holyfield, Lewis (depends on how you see it.)]..

He beat some all time greats, so why wouldn't he beat an all-time great?

As much as i dont think tyson is up there with the great heavyweights, his moral character should not come into play here.
            Chico, Mayweather - women hitters
Bhop, McCline - served years for robbery

i know thats a short, ****ty list, but it goes on and on... i must goto bed now.

I seriously admire Tyson and have massive respect for him. But you see, Tyson only looked good because he was fighting much lesser fighters, and that's what you see on all his knockout videos, him fighting B and C fighters! His greatest victories were against shot fighters that were old and out of their primes, and if you consider a fighter great for beating Berbick and Bruno decisively, I shake my head and wonder why..In my opinion, for a fighter to be great, he has to defeat a legendery fighter, who has had legendary fights... who is in his prime.. and that's something Tyson never did! Some say his greatest victory was against Larry Holmes, but again, Holmes was out of his prime when they fought.

Now, having said all that, I think Tyson had the physical attributes to be one of the greatest of all time, however he didn't have it all together mentally. He loved the idea of enjoying his success, however; he hated the road to greatness. After Cus D'Amato passed away, and he fired Kevin Rooney, he developed some serious motivational problems; and he is not an adaptable fighter at all, in fact, if you'll notice...every single time Mike Tyson has gone up against a fighter with a good jab, he's been absolutely dominated by the jab. Buster Douglas. Lennox Lewis. Danny Williams. Some guys didn't even need a jab to beat down Tyson, such as the great Evander Holyfield (now, that's a great fighter, I might add.), all Evander needed was to force his will upon the simple minded Tyson for him to throw in his cards and give up subliminally, by biting the poor guys ear. And let's not talk about him getting floored multiple times by Greg Page whilst sparring in Tokyo. You can say he was partying all night all you want- the fact is, great fighters don't get floored multiple times in one session by their sparring partners. Mediocre-good fighters do, not the great ones.

however, prime tyson was 1 of the greatest finishers..
