I don't think so either. All I'm saying is anything is possible and if that were to happen I can't see how they wouldn't at least consider him for the #1 spot instead of automatically saying they definitely will not under any circumstance ahead of time.

We know that Mayweather will always be the #1 p4p to your heart but that guy makes a valid point.

Pacquiao is #1, and for Mayweather or Mosley to be #1 they will need to beat Pacquiao, or if Pacquiao retires or loses to somebody else that could put somebody else ahead of Pacquiao.

usually I would agree with this 100% but its different if Mayweather wins because he was the undisputed p4p champ before retiring and if he come out of retirement and beats the #2 and 3 P4P boxers then this would be a unique situation where you could have a new #1 with out the current champ losing or retiring IMO

Mayweather skills are respectable and **** but you don't just jump up to number 1 spot fighting Marquez then Mosley. Marquez as we all know didn't even belong at WW! While Pacquiao has proven himself to be a WW, Marquez never did!

Coming from someone who doesnt like Floyd (me) I disagree. If he beats Shane and really dominates him, I put him at #1. I think Shane would give Pac all he could handle, and maybe even beat him (styles make fights) and for Floyd to destroy Shane would be something. So to me it depends on how he wins.

good argument if we are talking about the WW ranking but Marquez was the #2 P4P and fought at a catchweight of 144 against Mayweather so even tho I agree he should not get any credit for that win at the WW still should be considered if we are talking about p4p

good job. a undefeated welterweight beating a 36 year old career featherweight at welterweight & now a 39 year old 1 year & 6 months inactive mosley.....

                    but since they are p4p 2# & 3# that's all that matters.

missing the point bro a 39 year old mosley is better then a 29 Cotto according to the ring but my point is that since Floyd never lost his #1 title I could see an exception being made for him to regain his title with out actually fighting the #1 guy. beating the 2 and 3 best fighter in the world should be taken into consideration regardless of how old they were
