James Toney: How will he be remembered?

All great fighters have their ups and downs and its hard to appreciate them during their careers. How do you think Toney will be remembered years from now?

I thought he was great fighter during his reigns at mw, smw and cw, I think he will be remembered for those times and the bad times will be glossed over. Kind of like the way that no one focuses on Ali's career post Frazier III

    Anyone here agree or disagree?

James is one of my favs....a total throwback fighter...if dude kept his weight down he couldve been one of the best mw's of all time! i like his style in and out of the ring, ive met him plenty and trained with his stable at the 360 club. 10 years from now they'll be beggin for a james toney! belive that!!! probably one of the best naturaly gifted fighters, not athlete, fighter!!!

      good post
Its a shame he wasted so many years but sometimes thats just how things go. He was definately a throwback fighter he was fighting about 4 times a year back at mw and smw. I still think he is one of the best mw's, he has some amazing wins to his name as well.

I wont be watching him in the UFC though

toney will be remembered as a great boxer who isn't disciplined enough to win the big ones.

it didn't help that his body produces no testoterone.
