How many elite fighters did floyd fight during that time? coralles? zab judah?
I think floyds an amazing fighter, but you've got to understand the argument, he very rarely fights anyone of note, and when he does their usually well on their way to retirement. I give him full credit for fighting ricky hatton, one of only 2 undefeated fighters on floyds record, but even that win was outside of hattons weight division.
Its not as if the competition hasnt been there either, hes had a huge amount of oppurtunity to clash with the best and make some truely classic fights. Pre-margarito Cotto would have made a brilliant fight for floyd, shane 10 years ago could have been a career defining fight, pacquiao right now would be awesome. But they wont happen. Theres only so many excuses you can hear before you accept the fact that floyd just wants to keep his 0 and make as much money as possible without really pushing himself or risking anything.
To answer the question, it would shock me if floyd lost, because it would shock me if he fought anyone he thought he could lose toComment

It depends on who they lose to. Mosley beating Mayweather is not shocking for me. It's a competitive fight. If Clottey had beaten Pacquiao I would have been absolutely shocked. But not if Mayweather or Mosley beat him. And even that depends on how it's done. A one sided beating: shocking. Competitive loss: not shocking.Comment

I agree with this, Pac cant cut the ring well, but with his great footwork and some help with roach I think Manny can learn to cut well in the ring. I see his phenomenal foot work and stamina will help him a lot. We've seen how frustrated Pac got when Cotto was running at the end of the fight. But Cotto was just running to survive and not looking to counter or really even win rounds.
I can imagine him getting frustrated when Floyd is moving backwards and countering him and winning rounds. Also Floyd does not tire in the late rounds and that will help him tremendously against Pac.
Floyd is very mentally strong in the ring. The early rounds of the Hatton fight were awkward and tense but it didnt bother him one bit. Look at how well he handled the mini riot and his trainer being thrown out in the Judah fight. He got right back to work and patiently won the remaining rounds.
I can see Pac getting frustrated and loosing focus before floyd when they inevitably fight. If floyd tired in the late rounds then Pac could look to capitalize on that and get back in the fight but Floyd doesnt tire. He is the only guy other than someone like Martinez at 154 that I could see beating Pac.Comment
